I'm a depp fan, so you're trying to discuss the matter with the wrong person. I hate how you can try to have a debate, but there's always someone who favors the subject more in any situation.

I just saw this movie. Flippin excellent. The IMDB rating is a little exaggerated though..

Yeah true. And like I say, he is a good actor and I think he'll suit the Riddler. I'll just have to put any misgivings of him aside.

I think Depp is awesome, but I think Riddler is a weak Character.
I cant see it being an Action film with the Riddler..would just really focus on batmans detective skills to solve puzzles.
And I read about 10 different articles with Nolan and the Writers saying they thought Penguin was a to unrealistic character.
And I hear Jolie wants to be catwoman??? WTF..cos in the same articles as I said above they didnt want to use penguin or catwoman.
I dunno who they should have.... I personally wanted to see Two-face as the next villian on a revenage quest but they changed the ending due to Ledgers death as the 3rd film was ment to be the both of them..shame.
06 August 2008, 08:12 UTC#99
Oh that's what it was going to be? That sucks... That would have made a fucking awesome movie. I think Catwoman is stupid. The Riddler could only be good if he had someone working alongside him. I went through all the Batman characters the other day and don't see too many worth making any movie about. Penguin is possible, but not extremely interesting. Poison Ivy is stupid. I'm not sure of my stance on Mr. Freeze as it worked well in the George Clooney movie, but I don't know how they would make it dark and realistic, you know?
06 August 2008, 10:15 UTC#100
The Joker and Harley Quinn working together would be pretty sweet, except of course the problem of someone following Ledger.
I think it's only a matter of time before they bring in Catwoman, really; but I'm also wondering what path they're going to take regarding Robin - in or out? They got a lot to explore in the third movie, and I got a lot of faith since they haven't gone wrong yet.

christian bale said he wouldnt ever let a robin be signed in one of his batman roles

Mr. Freeze worked well in the George Clooney movie
wat
06 August 2008, 16:09 UTC#103
Yeah, it did, for a funny kids-style movie. And it was good to me when I was that age, but now it's just cheesy. So I'm saying that I don't know how they'd ever make it serious, realistic and dark.
06 August 2008, 16:37 UTC#104
Just saw this today and I was very impressed with the whole film.
The end didn't seem to do the rest justice though. :S
06 August 2008, 16:40 UTC#105
Apparently it would have been different if Ledger was still alive.
06 August 2008, 16:46 UTC#106
If they had to edit it, then fair enough.
But its sort of like "YEAH YEAH YEAH YEAH YEAH YE- Oh.. oh right..."
06 August 2008, 16:50 UTC#107
Yeah, it was very disappointing to have them HAVE TO kill Twoface for the end of the movie. It was the only way for them to end it apparently. Although, I would have kept him around for the sequel.
Who does everyone else think the best possible candidate for next villain is?
06 August 2008, 17:23 UTC#108
There is no doubt in my mind two-face isn't really dead.
06 August 2008, 17:27 UTC#109
Dude, I fucking hope that's the case. But they had like a hole preceding and everything with a funeral and whatnot. How would they swing it?
06 August 2008, 17:30 UTC#110
Was more like a memorial for him though, could easily pull the "missing from the morgue" favourite.
06 August 2008, 17:31 UTC#111
I hope you're right dude. I was extremely disappointed we didn't get to see more Twoface stuff.
EDIT: Now that I think of it, right after his "death" Batman had to flee the scene rather quick without being able to check to see if he was stone cold dead or not. Mmm, could work out after all.
06 August 2008, 17:34 UTC#112
The way I see it, given that there can really be no more Joker, it seems a waste of a perfectly viable character which had so much potential to bring to the franchise to just end the stories of two of Batmans most recognised villains.
06 August 2008, 17:37 UTC#113
I was thinking, since film makers take a fucking buttload of shots for every single scene. There might be just enough footage of Ledger to at least give him a brief scene in the next movie. (If they have him on green screen or what not and then if he's talking you can show the back of his head and have a voice-over actor recreate his voice. It might be a stretch, but it's possible.) Something like Silence of the Lambs where a new villain (or Twoface) is on the loose and they go to try and get in the mind of a currently incarcerated madman to figure out the mind of the one that's terrorizing Gotham.
06 August 2008, 17:46 UTC#114
I may have missed it, but was the last shot we saw of the Joker when he was upside down with the SWAT team all there like "YO WUZ HAPNIN"??
Oh yeah *spoilers*
06 August 2008, 18:09 UTC#115
Yeah dude, that was it. So I'm thinking there was supposed to at least be an end shot of him locked up that they cut out to splice into the next movie or something.
06 August 2008, 19:42 UTC#116
The jocker was better than batman actually
06 August 2008, 21:05 UTC#117
I thought the Joker was awesome, but I wanna know what I'd think about the performance if Ledger hadn't died.
I think I've just been sucked into it too.
06 August 2008, 21:11 UTC#118
I think I'd think the same thing whether he was alive or not. It was awesome either way.
