I don't think it really took 10 years to make like you're thinking. I think he means they filmed shit for 10 years, then thought "lets edit this together into a full length video".

I thought it was a little too dramatic for a skate video, but you definitley got the point across. I liked some of the tricks, but I do hope you release a faster teaser/trailer later on.

yeah your right chris, heres how the video concept went down.

Mat owned a 8mm camera, brough it out for afew sessions in town, then he broke his leg really bad (on film), like almost to the point they was going to remove it from the knee down due to how bad the break was and then it wouldnt heal and infected.

so while the other skaters hungout in town mat just used to sit down and film them sessioning. when they had alot of nice tricks on tapes and the cancil wasnt going to be nice about makeing a park. one of the ideas was to make a skate video called "give us a park"

after 4years or something, alot of the original HS crew fell apart, got older, got girlfriends and jobs, stopped skateing, stoped tryin to raise money and didnt think they would get a park. but mat & afew others didnt stop fighting for one. even if some of them didnt skate anymore they was by his side.

in 2003 mat sold his 8mm camera and got a minidv. as the cancil agreed to build the park. the "give us a park" video was scrapped. he kept all the old tapes but wasnt able to watch or edit them. more problems and finally we get a park in 05. mat & paul officialy brought me into hemel skates as filmer and editor (something the crew never really had)

he gave me a box of tapes from years of filming. me and louzy watched them all over a weekend and I had to try come up with layout for the video while laberling them.

so I decided it should be a documentary due to its storys and problems, also its our hometown and its our history. so thats why I decided to do the decade concept and only use the worthy footage.

theres 3 eras of hemel skates. the original town skaters, the younger lot after the originals stopped skateing and the new gen which ride the park. so hardly any of them have been rideing for the 10years, I think thats just mat. most of them only seem to ride for afew years and stop

so you see hemel skates isnt really a independent skateboard company like toy machine (as FMS compears them too) they are a hometown group of skaters and friends, not people like bam margera whos tryin to go pro. Image file not present in the recovered backup

but yeah the profits from the video are going to go towards getting lights fitted for it and repairs (if needed)
it needs them in the winter because when everones out of work its pitchblack down there so it only gets used in the summer. which is the biggest shame. the dvd & lights installed should be the iceing on the cake

Damn sounds boring without quality skating.

I should film a doc about some down syndrome kids trying to skate, well that would actually be hilarious and entertaining.

I saw none in the trailer.

I see no good stunts in a stunt trailer I assume the DVD will have poor stunts, I see no good tricks in a skate doc I have to assume the rest of the content will follow suite.

I don't see why you guys are bitching about this video all the time.

To me it's been loud and clear that this is a DOCUMENTARY about the Hemel guys. Ok, so to me it's pretty obvious that you're not getting a 'Really Sorry' or 'The DC Video' etc etc but a documentary about the guys. Take it as such.

I suck at metaphors, but you wouldn't expect Super Size Me to just show Morgan Spurlock eating Big Macs for 30 days edited to some fast ass music either.

Anyone can correct me if I'm wrong, but I just thought I'd cut in here and point out how much unnecessary shit you guys are giving this video

Dude, my skating content would slap fire out the ass of the skate content in that DVD trailer (and all the hemel skates clips I've seen).

The only group on here with really awesome shit is Ghost Monkey's, Asstreme, SPDST, because they film amateurs.

But all the shit I posted in that skate comp clip was way better than that hemel skates trailer and most of the shit in the trailer, cept the BMX because no one here does that well enough.

Edit: I can ollie, just it isn't high and not all the time lol, every time I get a board it gets jacked or broken because I give it to people trying to land tricks when they break there shit and I don't want to stop filming.

I've been filming skating and watching skate DVDs and hanging out with primarily skaters who skate every day and argue over skate tricks....damn dude your fucking stupid. Just because I'm calling you on some bullshit trailer you try and question my eye for skate content.
