I tend to use Final Cut Pro and find it quite 'intuitive'/easy to use. It just depends on what you're used to using. I've also used such greats as 'Casablanca' (go linear editing! haha) and Incite. Usually edit sound in Nuendo or Cool Edit Pro and match it all up afterwards. Good Times.
Little off topic, but I'm totally digging DVD Studio Pro for authoring DVDs.

im using adobe premiere pro 1.5 and 2 !
I prefer 1.5 tho !
ill be using final cut pro soon !

theres a simple older version I think bout 2002 that you dont need any fancy equipment (youll still need a fucking high end PC) for and it is possible to get a pirate of it (apparently)! som1 in my college has a copy but I dont know him !

the avid used for editing feature films is about £250,000 !!!
hell to edit tv shows edit software can cost about £150,000
but yeah there are quite a few cheapish versions for semi proffesional use !
