If I were to get new editing software what would you all recomend?
I am a rookie editor so I am looking for something farely eazy to use.
I currently edit with "Windows Movie Maker", and I know it sucks.
Any Recomendations?

Sony Vegas. I heart it.
Adobe premiere if you wanna be photoshop -nerd-like
or Final Cut if you wanna really be cool
12 December 2007, 04:33 UTC#3
is Sony Vegas easy to use?
12 December 2007, 04:37 UTC#4
Yep, Vegas is really easy once you get a hang of it. Just fuck around with it and you'll start figuring out everything you can do.
12 December 2007, 04:41 UTC#5
how expensive is it?
I work on a budget

Oh yes, and Pinnacle Studio is really easy to use and has plenty of neat transitions and effects.

If you pay me $100 I can give you a copy of mine. Otherwise, it's like $500. PM me.

Pinnacle Studio
Sony Vegas
or
Final Cut
whitch one is the best? and it isn't really a budget, it is just the amount of money I feel like spending.
12 December 2007, 04:56 UTC#10
Well, Yates' deal is the best for the money. So I'd go with that.
12 December 2007, 04:58 UTC#11
ya, that does seem like a good price, I will have to think about it for a while.
12 December 2007, 05:00 UTC#12
Just PM me man, you won't find a better deal.
12 December 2007, 05:08 UTC#13
I know, let me just talk to the CH crew (my stunt Gorup).
I wil see if they all want to throw in some money.
if they don't give me their money now, they never will.

12 December 2007, 08:31 UTC#17

yeah im thinking about switching to premiere,do you use it,is it very complicated
12 December 2007, 08:37 UTC#19
I am working on learning premiere. I know the basics, but I bought a book this summer and been reading it trying to get to the nitty gritty.
vegas is pretty easy to learn. but I think you can do more stuff with premiere than with vegas. its just a bit harder to learn.

well im sure its alot easier than final cut, plus final cut has to render everything on my computer and it takes for fucking ever
how much does premier go for, with after effects and all the other programs
12 December 2007, 08:57 UTC#21
I got hooked up with a cracked copy of premiere, so I got it for free. I have friends in the communications program at my college. I dont think I could send it over to you. too big of a program.
12 December 2007, 10:32 UTC#22
First of all, there is nothing wrong with WMM, lots of great stuff have been done with it. Could I see something you have edited with it? But if you really feel you need to move forward I´d say you´d get either Adobe premiere or Sony Vegas. It may be kind of hard to get hang of them at first, but thats the price you must pay for going more advanced in editing programs.
If you want more simple editing program you should go for Pinnacle, its easy as fuck, but has lots of good features (at least after few upgrades (that cost more)).
And all of them are fucking expensive:
Pinnacle studio 11 is around 115$ and thats without the upgrades
Sony Vegas 7 is around 880$ and then there is also chargeable upgrades for it too.
Adobe premiere pro CS3 goes waaay over 1000$
but then there is also budget resolution:
Adobe premiere elements 3, thats around 120$
(notice these prices are from Finland)
I´d say you should warez the progz stick with the wmm

I use Final Cut, it's essentially the same as Premiere Pro just different for minor things. I prefer Premiere though, it just works really nicely with After Effects and PS.
12 December 2007, 14:45 UTC#24
Premiere Pro for the win.

Yeah, he's pretty dead on there. But if you're a student, you can get it for way less. I got the entire production premium package for only $684 CDN (regular$2000)
16 December 2007, 09:56 UTC#26
Download it for free.
17 December 2007, 23:47 UTC#27
Final Cut Studio. It's pricey, but once you learn how to use it it's worth it. It has DVD studio, Soundtrack and more. So if you already have it, stick with it. I use all the stuff in Final Cut Studio but I also use Adobe After Effects and, of course, Photoshop. Motion and After Effects both have there pluses, they are both different programs so using both gets confusing sometimes.
18 December 2007, 00:17 UTC#28
I just got me premiere pro 2
18 December 2007, 02:49 UTC#29
