dont be a poser.
skate.
skate brands u find comfortable while skating.
wear skate brands u like the look of in your free time.
buy different things from different brands and find out what u like best.
everyone has their own kind of wheels, decks, bearings, trucks they like so.. let your friends inform u as well and ride with their set ups sometimes to find out what u like.
I mean everyone's saying Spitfire wheels are the bomb and all but why? They fucking suck. When I bought a Powell Minilogo complete it came with Minilogo wheels and they are still fine. While most of my friends have already ripped 4 sets of spitfire wheels in that time. Yeah ok, my wheels arent very good for switching stuff but well, better than 40 euros for new wheels every 3 months.

I use a Fiberlight too... This deck is really good, most people dont like the shape and everything of Elements but it feels perfect to me. I got down all my tricks on it. 4 my wheels I got Autobahns and trucks I had Grind Kings which broken recently now im using Titan ti-lites.

I just got 3 pairs of shoes from a old friend that has hook ups. Audio Kenny Anerson ( they just suck to skate in) Vans TNT ( nice to skate in) and Circa Lim which are the best shoes I have now and some reason the 360 flips come easyer and easyer with these shoes. I also have a penis

lol your set up sounds like hell to me... My featherlight just sucked lol snapped off like a small ledge and no I didnt land with both feet in the middle before u moan and it was relatively new.
My autobahns decored which was lame.
I loved shortys they were just perfect to the way I skate shape was sexy as too... Spitfire wheels preferably but im skating luckies because I won them, they've lasted fucking ages and everythings fine with them, very impressed. Shoes es k4's... although ugly these shoes were the fucking nuts lasted me about 8-9 months including summer and I go through shoes pretty fast. Bit ugly but the nicest feeling and longest lasting shoes I've ever skated in.
other don't buys - anything bam, just because don't like him and 8' decks suck ^^
- anything fracture or made with chinese wood, keep it canadian.

I skate to get around, I try shit but dont try too hard. I just enjoy skating for what it is. My set up current set up is the Zero - Three skulls deck, Destructo lows, Baker hollowcores and shortys bearings.
An interesting fact I was reading is that Abec ratings are mainly just a selling point. Annular Bearing Engineering Council is what is stands for and ABEC ratings are meant for industrial applications like large machinery, converyor belts and the likes. The ratings themselves are based on constants. They will run a machine, on a contant speed, time so on. So there is no fluxuation in pressure or speed variations. When you are skating, its almost impossible to maintain a constant speed. Everything from weight distribution, to the ground, to pumping change the speed and stability of the bearings. So in short, skateboards cannot meet/keep up the high speeds used when testing ABEC, and they also cannot keep a constant stable pace.
So basically to end it all, ABEC ratings hold no bearing (lol) on how fast your board would go and so on, its more or less a selling point. Swiss Ceramics are the biggest scam, there is an increase in the ease of the roll but it doesnt make you go faster. It your legs that do the work.
As for shoes, I only wear dvs. Best contruction and the shoes last me longer than any other brand I wear
