Why get over something that brings in millions of pounds in tourist revenue every year? It's brilliant she died, we get loads of soppy yank tourists flocking to her silly fountain and STILL laying flowers there (wtf is that about anyway, its been 10 YEARS)

Also, a UTOPIA?! Lol a few hundred years ago the place wasn't exactly swarming with swimming pools and Burger Kings. It was a harsh environment that many died in, not a holiday camp :rolleyes:

Calm down guys, this argument is fucking useless.

I've got lots of mates living in the UK and British ex's and Im a born and bred Australian. I respect the UK as much as I do the U.S

Both countries are about as unique as you can get. You cant compare them, even trying is useless. Both are successful, rich, 1st world nations that most of the world would kill to live in so chill out.

I like the fact that Ross has based his argument for England being bad based on a study of living conditions in 2003 (the year we pwned you in the world cup final in Sydney) which consists of a picture with maps coloured in.

You know the criteria for which they based those results on? You even know if it's a credible study? I could take a world map and colour in some of the countries and say anything I want about them that doesn't prove anything.

Just go to wikipedia and look under the title poverty. The following graphs clearly demonstrate we come out on top in life-expectancy and income inequality which are two of the three variables (or 'criteria') used when measuring 'standard of living'. I just like that map because it looks cool. If you can find me a 'credible study' that proves me wrong then go right ahead. You have rebutted nothing. And admit it, we do pwn you at sport. 5-0 Ashes series anyone?

That's just an ignorant statement. The places where England established their first colonies were in temperate climates Not only that, but over 2/3's of our population still live in this area because it's the most comfortable.

You've taken one joking post by me and made yourself look an over-sensitive sack of shit. :rolleyes: I'm sure I could explore the internet about 'termperate climate' and the like and come back at you with a load of facts that would also make me look like I gave a shit. Now you've just disappointed me; I was looking to have a bit of fun with you guys. Of course 'temperate climate' is a trivial argument...valid. But still trivial. Hell, you could've argued something equally as trivial and wouldn't have cared. I remember back when I first joined you and I had en epic argument, it was funny as fuck. Something about God vs Science or something or other. lol

Just so you know, we had a nation-wide vote back in 90s to see if Australia wanted to become a republic--and we voted against it. So we still love you Brits. And the fact that the majority of our tourism industry actually comes from north america and the U.K. suggests that you guys still love us. It's just fun to hang a bit shit man.

That and I get bored easily...very easily. :tongue:
