So it's this Saturday...who do you think will come out on top? I'd hate to go with the majority but I reckon Kevin Rudd's got this one in the bag. John Howard's just got too much dirt against him.
I'm voting for the Greens as usual

I'm guessing that not many people have seen or would remember that specific episode; considering there are hundreds of them. Don't worry though, I'm a gun when it comes to Simpsons quotes. I think I racked up 5 in an entire day once.
Greens are a third-party too by the way...I only vote for them because they want to legalize weed. But I don't smoke dope anymore, so I dunno if I have a good reason now.
I might vote for John Howard. Just so I can say I that I did.

I will be doing the same, only because I'd like to see them in the senate, plus their preference is for labour anyway, so I think I've made the right choice, seeing as Labour will ratify Kyoto and is promising "world-class" broadband infrastructure.
Having said that, this election still reminds me of that south park episode, where they have to choose between a giant douche or a turd sandwitch.

Yeah true, Howard's been bullshitting his way around broadband for god knows how long. He had his chance to fix the problem and failed. As I'm a student (and will be a student for the next 4-5 years), I know I'd be far better off with labor government as well--that'd be my main motivation.
I can't understand how he got elected the last time...I mean, it seems that 90% of the country hates yet he manages to get more than 50% of the votes? I think he pulled a George Bush and dodged up something Florida style, it's the only conceivable answer.

People only vote for the person currently in power because they don't like the change in goverment , even if they hate the bastard in charge.

Possible, but doubtful.
I think the main reason people voted Howard in again was because nobody wanted to see Mark Latham running the country.
This time around though, the opposition leader seems a lot more credible.

lol oh yeah, I forgot about the whole 'Latham factor'...geez, that guy was a tool. And what about his predecessor Kim Beazley?--even worst.
Yeah, Rudd does seems a lot more credible now, but time will tell I guess. Everyone believed Howard when he said interest rates wouldn't rise and that there'd never be a GST and then look what happened. But in his defense, he has done a good job with unemployment. If anything, Rudd could build on that for the better.
I dunno though, I'm no political expert. I'm interested to see what Rudd will do regarding the war in Iraq.

Yeah, it does look like Rudd's dominating the electoral poll, which is kinda sad, but when you only have the choice of a tool and and even bigger tool, you've got to take the former.
I'm also a fan of the greens, predominately for their legalize policy, lol, although some of their ideas are a little whacked out.
Kinda off topic, but has anyone seen the clip of kevin rudd eating the crud out of his ear? look up "rudd ear crud" on youtube, it's a stunt unto itself... And that man may be our future leader. *Sigh*

The fact that Australia has a higher standard of living than England says alot...really, it does. Fucking off from England was the best thing we ever did. And I'm proud of Australia's convict past, it just goes to show that our ancestors were too badass for your tea-sippin' girly-man land.

That, and we totally kick your asses at sport (with the exception of maybe the recent rugby performances).
