I dont like the skin, it could look better with a few modifications maybe, but its overly dark anyway.

It's oh so easy to make your own skins for IPB, so ridiculously easy. Why do we not do as I suggested and make a PSD layout and I will code it into a skin??
If no one is interested, I will use my limited fireworks knowledge to create one. I guarantee, we could make something 20* better than anything out there atm.

I need a template to work from, how the hell would I just create it? You find me a tutorial and I'll mke one now. I literally wouldn't know where to start.

Easy, follow the basic rules of design.
* Header
* Body, self explanatory as all forums have similar bodies
* Footer - Whatever you want
Throw a BG in, I can use the picker to get the CSS colours for what isn't imagery, and the rest can be cut out and coded in with minor tweaks to the CSS, fonts and tables.
