I think it\'s fair enough that they test them etc. We have them why can\'t they? If we\'re saying other places can\'t have and use them then we should turn ours in to.

LOL Fuck being fair. This country\'s leader is fucking nuts, we don\'t have a clue what to expect from him.

And George Bush isn\'t. He said that he invaded Iraq for God, what will God tell him to do next?

I'm with Nuggetto - I'd personally not have the dictator that's starving his people and not allowing any foreign media into his country having access to nukes, thanks.

Exactly, he puts all the funds into the military and leaves the general population to starve. They developed the nuke in a little over a year I'm sure they can fix this missle range system thing in an even shorter amount of time.

It might spark another cold war type of arms race, which could very well lead to another world war..

A world war, in this situation would be the world near enough vs a nuclear N Korea...and in that case I doubt it would last long, the second they launched any nukes, everyone else would nuke the crap out of them...over... 1- 0 the free world....lets celebrate with some party poppers.

It's weird that they're behaving so provocatively considering that they don't have any allies left. China was probably the last country that they didn't have against them, and even they have condemned their nuke tests.

Yeah, and N. Korea is so impoverished and relies on China for almost everything it needs for its people to live. Kim Jong Il just doesn't care about his nation/people. He just wants power and to be the Alphamale in global politics or whatever. It's best just to let him tire himself out, like the US is doing with Castro in Cuba. Poor tike's just worn out, so cute.

Yes we would. N Korea's last missle test couldn't even reach halfway to Alaska and landed in the sea. I think the only casualties of a nuking would be some Chinese fishermen off the coast of Korea.

Sorry haven't read the rest of the thread, but you're ran by bush. Who's been in more conflicts than north Korea and probably causes a threat to more places than north Korea does to.

BOOYA

I'd like to see HGV try and discuss important contemporary events. We should have a scholarly competition betwixt us and them, we'd pwn them. We send our best and brightest against there's in a battle of wits and intelligence to decide once and for all which Forum is smarter!

We'd own them.

And I guarentee I could kick the shit out of you in an ethical debate on pretty much anything.

Not so. Pretty much the entire globe figures N Korea to be a dangerous element, not just Bush sycophants. China is majorly pissed at the moment, and is probably the country that is least influenced by George Bush, or anyone else for that matter.

Not so. Bush has to answer to Congress, the American population and the UN. Iraq was an easy war crime, it's a piddly little country in the arse-end of the world. However, you only ever get away with that once in a presidency. There is no way Bush could spark a major invasion now without UN backing. For one thing, criticism would come flying in from all over the shop and he'd probably be forced to resign. Secondly, while he can't stand for another term, his party can, and you can bet that some Republican big-wigs are leaning on him to keep the faux pas low at the moment in the hopes of winning the next election with another candidate. I'll agree, N Korea is a tit-wank in the danger department - it can't even get a missle across the Pacific - but I think you're building up Bush to be some kind of gun-toting fuckwit who doesn't give a shit what his actions do damge to. And he is. BUT he's a gun-toting fuckwit who is being reined in by just about every authority at the moment. Kim Jong-il is not being reined in, he's the most powerful person in his country. He's majorly pissed because his biggest buddy, China, finally started backing sanctions against N Korea in July, thereby leaving him mateless. He's given up negotiating and I would say is far bigger threat at the moment.

it really doesnt matter that n korea has nukes, they are not stupid enough to start a nuclear war and end the war (since all the world powers have nukes). The USA makes a big deal of it because they want to be number one in the world. With "Dubya" as president though, he might find a way to strike N. Korea and start fucking WWIII

It officially needs to encompass two continents.

It's up to them really I think. I don't agree with their regime, but it's not really anyone else's business if North Korea want nukes, why should it only be certain countries. The US and everyone else should just keep out of the situation, because North Korea are just looking for a reaction. They wouldn't be daft enough to use them against another country because they know everyone else would blow their shit hole of a country up in a matter of seconds just like that.

But no matter what we want, someone's going to have them. We're not the World Police....YET

And America never will be. What the Americans fail to realise, probably due to patritism is China's economic stability and wealth far exceeds that of the US, it has for a long time. China is far superior to the US economically and militarily.

Regarding the Bush mention; FYI Bush is just a face for the media, that's all that govnerments that comprise of Liberals, Democrats, congressmen are; faces of the media. Dictatorship provides a leader with true independence on how they run the country, thus why it is so dangerous. I could go on with explanations and what not, but rest assured prime ministers and presidents such as Blair and Bush have very little control over final decisions, sure they can influence them (not as prolifically nowadays due to integrity issues) however predominately they are simply a face for the media.

So, is it okay for North Korea to have nuclear missiles? No. However my consensus is that it's not okay for the rest of the world to have nukes. Should we be able to control whether N. Korea is allowed Nukes? Only if we are prepared to surrender all forms of potential nuclear warfare in our possession.
