Hancock - not sure what to make of this since it was like watching two movies in one. The initial premise was interesting but there's only so long I can watch Will Smith swaggering around drunk while yelling "prick" and "asshole" at everyone, even if he is a superhero.
For some reason, around the halfway mark, the movie suddenly introduces a crapload of new and completely underdeveloped story points that only serve to clutter up the movie and leave the audience intensely confused. There's a rushed and ridiculous origin story for the protagonist that is never explained in any detail beyond "yeah, you're super and thousands of years old". Not to mention the plethora of bizarre rules involving when he can have powers and when he loses his powers: all of which are just thrown at the viewer with no explanation to ground them in the story.
There's a "main" villain established with some skill, yet he's on the screen for about four minutes in the whole movie before dying, never to be seen again. Oh, and don't forget that he gets a motive for wanting Hancock dead that involves the bad guy "getting his powers back"...and if you thought that was explained or explored in any detail, well, then you'd be wrong.
It's like the writer got bored with what he was doing halfway into the script and suddenly concocted all these ideas that, if fully developed, could have made Hancock into a great genre-crossing superhero/drama flick. Instead all we're left with is a compost heap of storylines dangling from a promising beginning. 5/10 at best.

Anchorman - Wake up ron burgundy, been waiting for ages for this to be released over here, finally found a copy last night. Pretty stoked on the news of a sequel as well.
Off topic, but apparently the Red Dwarf film is finally Greenlit... Should be pure class if they ever actually make it, and if they keep the original actors.

I just watched Sicko.
It's very depressing but a certain eyeopener.
You could go on and on about how biased it is or how missleading some parts might be(ie. the cuba part) but the point really does come across no matter how negative or skeptical your attitude towards this film would be. the american health care is very much fubar, immoral, unethical and just a nightmare for oh so many americans.
And it really makes me sick how some people have made health care into pure business.
I love michael moore's sarcasm and irony.. and his wit. But he kinda glorifies the brittish UHC(among other things). Might have been the best thing the britts invented in the 20th century but from what ive heard its going more and more towards the us 'concept'
This is a topic that you could write many, many pages about. So im just gonna stop now by asking you: If you can find money to kill people cant you find money to heal ppl?
EDIT: oh and I allso watched a movie called Promotion... it was shit.
