and prom night, not worth seeing I was ready to walk out half way through
11 April 2008, 07:24 UTC#1,982
The original Prom night sucked saggy balls, so no surprise the remake licks cakehole.
The life aquatic with Steve Zissou - Fucking brilliant movie.

Superbad . . . mediocre.
Big Trouble in Little China . . . I remembered it being better. Image file not present in the recovered backup

I watched the other half of Pulp Fiction.
11 April 2008, 12:47 UTC#1,986
I am Legend. Was nice in HD. Was slow at times, reminded me of the 28 days|months later movies, only less horroristic. Worth watching one time.
11 April 2008, 18:24 UTC#1,987
Did they throw in the "Will Smith showering/ working out scene" in this one as they do with ever other Will Smith movie?
Edit: If not, I'm not going to see it. Image file not present in the recovered backup
11 April 2008, 19:40 UTC#1,988
They do have a very intimate scene where Will Smith fucks his dog.
11 April 2008, 21:42 UTC#1,989
And then he kills it.
K-K-K-KACHOW! SPOILER!

It was so pathetic with the scare scenes, running into lamp shades and pigeons flying to frighten, and normally at least one of the "scary parts" will make me jump a little bit, but not in this movie. The killing scenes were edited to look slightly cool, but the acting at times was garbage the question as to why any of this occurred is left unanswered, and it also resembles a shittier version of Halloween the original edition where he appears everywhere without logical reason.

Yes, there is a working out scene.

We watched "Gone Baby Gone":
http://imdb.com/title/tt0452623/I was tired, so I took a small nap in the middle. This movie takes us to the US we don't want to see. Lot's of ugly people, drug use, alcohol, pointless lives, poverty. Not the usual bright, successful, rich people.
A small girl went missing in the beginning, and some members of the family hires a PI couple to find her (despite the fact that police is also on the case.). We soon find out police is shite. Around the half of the movie we know the little girl is dead. I thought it was such a short movie. But it dragged on. There is a surprise at the end.
It got 8/10 at imdb. I may have been too tired to enjoy this. Or the movie was too slow for my taste.

Alien Vs. Predator: Requiem.
Thought it was alright. Better than the first but still purely average. They corrected some mistakes by having way more shots of the creatures themselves; but managed to introduce some new ones by spending a third of the 98-minute runtime on building up the characters and their fucking personal dramas. I'm sorry, but I don't give a shit if some girl he has a crush on is going out with a douche so he has to win her back (by the way, cliche alert).
There were some pretty sweet bits, including a particular death involving two Predator shuriken; plus the pregnant woman's stomach exploding from five chestbursters hatching inside her womb.
Not bad for killing time but it's hardly exceptional. And trust me, skip the first half hour and you lose absolutely nothing from the storyline or action as a whole.

Thanks for that, I was wondering about this film.
I hope they don't make the Xenomorphs as lame as they were in the first AVP film.

They definitely get more of a chance to fuck shit up, and after waiting through the whole Alien series and listening to characters ominously saying "what if these things got to Earth?" it's fucking awesome to see the chaos and carnage that just an initial handful of Xenos can cause.
Unfortunately, they are still cannon fodder to the Predator and he blows through them pretty quickly. But I did like how they made this Predator more powerful and skilled, since in the first AvP the Predators - the greatest hunters in the galaxy - got their alien asses kicked like they were playground pussies.
Another problem is that in many scenes the Aliens were pushed aside to make way for the new Predalien (in one shot this is literally true); but it is cool to see the new design for this creature, and of course he gets some of the best kills in the movie as well.
Give it a try, like I say, it's not bad; but stick with Aliens for a true classic.

13 April 2008, 11:52 UTC#2,001
Has anyone else seen Awake? It's pretty good but I just didn't care enough about the characters.
