That movie (The Blindside) looked miserable...and racist. They depicted Oehr like he was an over-grown puppy dog, completely hopeless and stupid without the help of the rich white lady. She even says, "Protect the quarterback like he's a member of your family." As though Oehr had absolutely no idea how to play football even until the rich white lady explained it to him. I mean, the family picked him up at night in a rain storm. How pathetic is that? I was expecting the kids to say, "Can we keep him!?" I don't mind sentimental movies. I like to feel emotions in movies, but I like to do it on my own terms naturally. I don't want a movie pushing me all over the place to feel one way or another. John Cage said, "I don't mind being moved by art. I do mind being pushed by it." The Blindside is a bully, pushing you down the slide on recess.
I just watched Julia with Tilda Swinton. It's about a manic, self-absorbed, extreme alcoholic. She comes into contact with a Mexican neighbor who tells Julia she'll pay her 50,000 dollars to kidnap her son from the son's rich grandfather, who has custody of the boy. Swinton does an amazing job, and the plot takes so many twists and turns, it's an incredible experience everyone should watch if they get the chance. I have links to it, if anyone wants. Highly recommended 9/10.

I totally agree with you man, this movie is for white ladies.
I love how the women picks up a giant hitch hiker, while her kids are in the car, and it turns out to be a good choice.

The Hurt Locker doesn't worry about making statements or pandering to the masses. It's just a film about war, and how the adrenaline rush you get from being inches or seconds from your death is addicting. "War is a drug." is the quote that introduces the movie, and the hero's need to get his fix in the course of battle makes him dangerous, and hard to like. But, you can't help but think that you might make the same decisions. He's a hard guy to like, and the audience is left trying to figure out if you want him to survive his next reckless adventure or not.

It was only $8 so I went for it. I liked it a lot. It's fairly weird and the plot doesn't make a whole lot of sense but Zach pulls it together.
Yeah, it does suck that people only know him from The Hangover. He keeps getting roles though, which is awesome. He definitely deserves it.
