How to lose friends and alienate people. Simon Pegg is funny but movies like these don't justify his funny..ness.

I didn't know there was another version besides the one with Nicholson in it. Kubrick did that one, right?

yeah based from the stephen king book, alot was changed so it was renamed Stanly Kubrick's The Shining,
king didnt like what he had done to his work, so he got his own version funded, on a lower budget (not that it matters)
but they decided to film the whole book to make sure every scene was included.
Stephen King's The Shining

I thought it was overwhelmingly average. It had its moments, and it kept me interested for the most part; but, I just didn't think to myself at any point, "Wow, this is a movie I'll wanna see again."

Minghags - People have been saying that Haggard is so much better but I don't know. This movie was fucking hilarious to me, and so many old school cameos & appearances

Funny Games. Horrible movie. I thought it was good for the first 20 minutes or so when the guys came to the house but after that it was just shit. Some scenes dragged so badly I had to fast forward almost 10 minutes at times. Bad directing even though it was probably trying to be artistic in some way.

edit: it was the new version btw

30 Days of Night again - enjoyable but I dont like the ending. He kills the leader with a stoke of luck and all the other vampires are all like k ttyl.

And also - Contact, or the last hour of it rather. I fucking hate that movie. It's slow, unrewarding and pretentious. Two hours of boringness just for a 5 minute climax that explains nothing. Aliens bring a human to the edge of the universe so that they can have a 2 minute ambiguous dialogue

I didnt think it was that bad, I just find it odd that the director decided to do a shot for shot remake of his own film. It's not the type of film that would benefit much from a bigger budget or a popular cast.
