I Almost Stabbed Someone

So I was walking home from Subway as I normally do. I see a black bum approaching with a huge shopping cart. There wasnt enough room on the sidewalk for us both because they were doing construction and only half of the sidewalk was walkable, so I put my back against the wall to kindly let him pass.

He said something that I couldn't make out so I said "what?" and he immediately flipped on me. He basically cornered me with his shopping cart, got right in my face and said "ill kill you motherfucker, no one fucks with me..I'll fucking kill you right now you motherfucker!!!"

I figured this guy was mugging me...I was just waiting for him to demand that I give him my money. But he didnt. He just raised his fist and got in the position to beat the fuck out of me...all while he kept going on about how he's gonna kill me.

I reached for my knife in my pocket...I wanted to take it out...but I knew without doubt that if I did I would have ended up using it.

This guy wasnt gonna back down no matter what...if I pulled out that knife he wouldve came right at me and I wouldve ended up stabbing him.

I pushed the cart aside and backed out of my position...and I was backing up he kept coming towards me. I turned my back to him and began walking away and he basically just said "walk motherfucker or ill kill you".

This all happened basically in the span of 15 seconds around 10:00 pm.

A security guard saw the whole thing...he thought it was funny...

As I was walking away I could hear the black bum pulling the same shit on a group of woman who looked to be tourist. They looked scared shitless.

I dont know why I didnt pull out the knife....I wanted to stab him.

Yep I do. The first thing I did when he started yelling at me was reach for my backpack to get my cam but thats when he pushed the cart into and got into my face. I realized this dude was pretty much dead serious about the whole thing



I dont feel safe. It isnt safe here at all man. I carry mase and a knife, but my mase was in my backpack and its way expired. I didnt want to take the chance of it not being effective.

I'm really bothered by this whole thing. The fact that this guy just went on to attack the next person he saw. The fact that the cops dont do shit about it because otherwise a quarter of the homeless population would be in jail. Fuck...the cops are the ones who bring the homeless people to downtown. They dump them here.

No one is gonna do shit about it and this guy is just gonna go on to attack more people. Its total fucking bullshit and it really pisses me off.

This isnt a joke at all...I seriously almost stabbed some dude...and if I did it would probally have changed my life quite a bit. And the thing is...I will more than likely run into this guy again.

Wasnt really an option. I had my backpackon with my cam in it...good chance it would get jacked if I took it off and set it down.

shit man ive had that shit happen to me in Dallas a couple of times its some fucked up shit when it happens and your like fuck I shoulda done something after its all over but its good u didnt stab the guy. good thing to keeping your cool

I understand you dont take many things seriously...but this is pretty serious to me and had I stabbed him it would've changed my life forever.

Yeah...I would claim self defense...but that wouldnt be the end of it. Every scum bag in the country who beats the fuck out of someone claims it was in self defense. Cops hear self defense pleas day in and day out. In their eyes...it takes 2 to fight.

So I'd likely end up getting felony charges of some sort and I'd have to go to court which would probally take 6 months to a year. That's not fun shit. Thats a year of thinking about whether or not youre going to be spending a portion of your life in a prison cell.

He deserved to be stabbed...but I cant even fucking imagine how fucked I would be right now if I had and I'm glad now that I didnt.



Yeah....7 years ago they did a study and found that 1 in 10 homeless people are HIV infected along with a string of other diseases. I'm willing to bet that its doubled since then. It's not something you want to fuck with.

Yep, thats actually exactly what I'm doing.

I talked to doogle and thats what he suggested. Mace is non deadly as well so I'll be able to avoid any of those "assult with a deadly weapon" charges. Also...mace will put me some distance between myself and the bummies. If I get em good in the eyes it should fuck their shit up quite well.

I wouldnt care so much about living in such a shitty area if I wasnt by myself. All I need is 1 friend to be around and shit like this wouldnt happen. Actually....I would hope that it would happen so that these people would get what they deserve and stop harrassing everyone they come across.

I just need a friend who can take care of the camera when shit like this happens. When Im by myself I keep it in my bakcpack...dont really wanna get in a fight without someone to film or at least look out for the cam.
