Well...the site had been around for almost 2 years which really helps. Then they tried to make it out as if they've never tried advertising when they really had - Adsense - it just made so little that they took it down.
The whole thing looks good on paper...which is why so many people started off interested....but at a closer look...you could see the site wasnt worth nearly what they were asking for it. I think the dude who made them the offer of 8k backed out or something...most likely because he realized it would've been a total waste of money.

That's nothing, it's pretty easy to pull off that amount of traffic. The problem with dfilms was that it was a bandwith whore, whoever was gonna buy would have to foot bandwith bills, making it worth less than it was.
Plus there was no revenue to the site, Chris and Karl didn't really diversify into a niche, it was just a typical video hosting site so they couldn't point potential customers anywhere that would pay for stuff.
