If you are brand new...DO NOT GET THAT CAM......it's a great cam, but if you are a new group why the fuck would u wanna waste shitl oads of money on a cam you won't know how to use fully and that would be wasted on filming shite content. Get two smaller cams, multi angle would be much better for you.

What's there to know? Turn it on, push record, stop, simple

A good camera cant be a bad place to start. Regardless if the group is shit, I'm sure Sam Evans would love to own one.

Here's some footage shot with a Sony DCR-VX2100

Don't buy one until your either rich or honestly dedicated to video production.

Any other videos?

lol.. yeah, plenty videos on youtube.. but here is something else that this camera does well.

Blue screening: CLICK HERE

This was just a random test video I made a little while back and I wasn't even using a real blue screen! I just used a blue bed sheet to make this, so you can imagine how well it would look if I had an actual blue screen! (I have one ordered.. I'll let you know when I post the next test video).

Was this video shot with a Sony DCR-VX2100?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sRFMO_A0wC8

(So I guess the quallity comes out really good on the T.V.)

Yes, that was also shot with my VX2100...

The footage is crisp.. I have noticed a difference in how people watch my videos (here at home). Before, when I would give people a preview of my DVDs, they'd watch it and talk in the middle of the videos (it always kinda agrivated me). But now, when they preview my videos.. they're totally quiet and sucked into the video. I think it's because it's more "TV" looking.

btw an internet video doesn't do shit as far as picture quality justice goes.

they are ment for exactly what you buy it for, it's a prosumer camera, it is designed to be turned on and pointed at something and recorded just like any other camera, just at awsome quality.

at the same time you can tweak a lot of settings to change the image quality. 9 times out of 10 I left mine in auto mode to shoot, only changing the shutter speed and exposure when I was serious.

btw if you do buy it go on ebay and get an np-f960 battery, it's pretty much impossible to go on a shoot with a vx with one stock shitty battery.

you WILL notice a major difference as soon as it starts getting dark, and playback on tv's looks very good. vx's are broadcast quality.

Ok THX for the info!

I also have a question about tape quallity... Will I loose quallity if I re-record over tapes?

I haven't really noticed any problems with re-recording, although, I still don't recommend it on a professional point of view.

Seeing as u needed people too tell u this camera was good, and now you need people telling u what extras and shit to get...even after pointing out all u had to know, was how to turn it on, record and then stop it...like mono sarcastically, but correctly has pointed out, cant you see that there is no way in hell this camera will benifit you?

Can we see a video of your's?
