You ever played S.T.A.L.K.E.R? What you think of it?
It started off quality: awesome blend of FPS/RPG, great background and atmosphere...but it got old so fast. I played for a couple of hours, got a fuckoff assault rifle, the best armour and all the ammo and health I could carry, and everything was so easy. I actually went round one of the bases just gunning down all the faction leaders and their elite bodyguards without even breaking a sweat. I was like the fucking Terminator in the police station.
Not only that, but the missions were fucking repetetive. Near the start of the game, I got an optional mission to "kill a rogue trader". I did so, and then I was playing a little later and I got THE SAME MISSION, the guy was just in a different spot. The actual story missions were no different to the optional sidequests ("kill this guy"..."find this item"). There was nothing to immerse me in what was happening. I was just running from A to B, killing something, then back to A again. I played up to the twist in the storyline, then I was seriously so bored that I traded it in.
It's a real shame because in the first couple of hours I was having a blinding time. It just couldn't keep up its momentum.
EDIT: If you haven't played it yet, then by all means do: it's worth it and you never know, you might like it. Just let me know if you're still going strong after a couple days
