Yes it is a lot better, but dude, what site are you buying it from?

It'll probably turn out to be a scam.

If it's not being sold on a well known business website, I urge you to use escrow.com for the transaction.

no no no fucking no

buy it off of the official site (sony.com) becasue you can lease it for 85 dollars a month, plus if it gets wreked, you got a warrenty, never pay for somethen more than 2,000.00 off ebay...too risky, unless you got the money

Hey dude,

I own a VX2100 and I've used the DVC 30..

So here's my advice.

If you plan on shooting in low light, go with the VX. Sure, 30 has night shot, but wouldn't you rather have a clearer picture without the night shot and are you really going to use night shot all that often?

If you plan on doing some extreme camera angles, go with the 30. Not only is it cheaper, but it's also much lighter.. The VX would be a shame to waste if you wrecked it.

If you want higher quality picture in day light.. of course, the VX wins.. but the quality between the 2 after your done editing, won't be all that noticable to the average viewer.

If you want to green screen.. use the VX.

If you want to buy more accessories.. buy the 30.

All in all.. the VX is better, but if your editing skills are good, you won't need to worry much about video quality differences.

Where to buy your camera:

I baught my VX new from Sony for $2,999 (us), but you can get a referbished one for $2350 from Sony with a 2 year warrantee!

DO NOT BUY FROM EBAY!!! I got scammed on Ebay for $1580 the first time I tried to buy a VX, so don't make my mistake! It sucks!

Shop around first.. don't just limit yourself to the 30 and the VX.. look into Canon as well.. the Canon GL2 series is nice too

I'd stay away from the GL2, just filming skating my friend's broke and had to get repaired. It's good, but if you're gonna buy a nice cam, why not go all out?

Your in a Group called P factor?

Im not trying to be an ass here, and I feel bad for saying it.

But, the fact I have NEVER heard of you, or can recall seeing a video leads me to belive purchasing this camera would be a fucking huge waste of money.
Im just assuming as I've never been told to check out a video of yours by anyone, or remmber a video form you, that your group is not at the level to be needing a camera that is of that quality.

Why not get 2 cams, that are a few hundred quid each, that would benifit your group alot more than one fuck off expsensive camera.

Im sorry man, but like mono, I dont get why people in groups that obviously have no need for expsensive cams feel that it will benifit their groups.

Getting an amazing cam does not make you an amazing group ok?

Sorry if I came across as a dick, I just feel that u would be better off spending the money on a couple of budget cams and a website (as I cant see a link to yours in ya profile or sig, I assume u dont have one?) and as you are a newish group (correct me if im wrong) Getting a exspensive cam would be a waste of time as u would be compressing the clips down too web quality anyways, and that would defeat the object? Unless you are going to make a dvd stright off, and if u are...I'd suggest thinking about it, nobody is going to buy a dvd from a group they havent seen good stuff from in the past.

Sorry again.

If you dont have a cam Domm, are u sure getting an expensive cam as your first one will be worth it cos what if it turns out you dont film kick ass stuff, then you'll have to end up selling the camera or maybe posting it to me. lol

Then, get a couple of lower priced cams, make some videos, develop as a group, produce good videos, multi angles, with hte same end quality video as you would with the more exspensive one u want, as u would be compressing it near enough to the same web quality clip.

I would much rather watch an amazing group, do amazing stunts with a crap cam than a shite group do shite stunts with an amazing cam.

People aint ganna mind watching a video, no matter what quality it is visually aslong as content wise, its good.

But it's your money we cant tell u how to sepnd it, I just think that most people will agree when I say you are SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much better off buying 2 lower priced cams, as u will end up with the same quality web clips near enough anyways.

Yes, I agree, I am one of those people.

And plus if you buy two lower priced ones you got more money to spend on accesories if you like say lenses, filters, mics, tripods whatever...
