also, I'm in negotiations to have an un-named celebrity possibly in the homegrown collection dvd and I'll be releasing his personal home footge on solo dvds. pretty cool stuff but I can't go into detail yet. maybe next week I can. he is on tv though every week, I'll just say that.

so this is your chance to also get a little rub of fame. you guys will love it.

*inside editor, cough WEAK.

Moody you need to pay and arrange for all the groups to fly to your home. now how awesome would that be?

Hmm it dragged on a bit too long for my liking. I can see how it was meant to be an artistic edit, but I don't think it really works well with this kind of footage. Just as Mr.Safety said, I don't think that this is a video you should use for promotional purposes. It doesn't "sell" IMO.

I just skimmed fast through your thread-opener, so I don't know if you already told this, but who edited the video? Surely not anyone you pay money to? Not trying to sound like an ass, but the edit was a little boring to say the least.
I just think that HGC deserves more.. No offense intended

I'm changing editors, I know.

I dont have anything new to say I pretty much agree with everyone, started off intresting, but never popped, and got a little sloppy towards the end.

Your name got changed back for this?

I vote that the mods change it back.......

Like the others, I thought it was pretty cool. Loved the muppets clip, fitted perfectly with the music. But, it did drag on, especially with that type of slow, deep music.

But well done on being brave enough to edit with this type of music, it's incredibly difficult to pull it off well with the music, and I've only seen done once before (being retardz promo, which is on most people's top favourite videos).

I agree.

Here's an idea that could really help this video take off..

ATTENTION ALL HGC GROUPS:

Nominate 3 of the best editors in Homegrown to produce the trailer, then send in some of your footage to them so they can edit you in.. Moody, if you can.. send them a link to the music that you have rights to.

Once the editors have all the footage and music available to them.. then they'll make a trailer.

After the trailer is complete, everyone should vote on the best one to represent HGC.

Which ever video gets the top vote should be promoted HARD online by everyone involved.

ALL the nominee trailers should be posted all over the internet by all groups (yes, this will mean each of the following websites will have duplicates of the same trailer) .. I'm talking Youtube, Zippy Videos, Put File, Vidilife, Myspace, ifilm, Yashi, Motion TV, Newgrounds (as swf files), and any other hosts that you know of.

I can GUARANTEE that this will give the dvd a HUGE push in sales and recognition.

Yeah but, we've seen it done like a million times with this type of music in HG videos though, and they have been pretty good too.

Like SST Pro, Vode edits to totally different music than anyone else, in nearly all of his videos, and it works out, coulda been pulled of better basically.

Edit: Ok, might aswell, I nominate:

Vode
Mono
BenCKa
Kuffi

But I think most of them are busy.....

I know what Moody was trying to achieve with this video.

But he failed.

It pretty much summed up the best moments of the DVD in those few minutes. Which says a lot.

No graffiti or boobs in HGC?

graffiti can be okay but I need to see the footage.

I dont want to show boobs. this isn't girls gone wild.

when everything takes off and we get the tv commercial distribution deal and it succeeds, ill fly everybody involved to LA, just bring food and beer money because if I pay for all of that, shit will get too expensive.

why doesn't mono or you or somebody who thinks they can make something better, make something better, just keep the same format or same footage but wiht your own style.

I can email any of you a song I own and if u have the dvd and you portray the footage in the dvd, the dvd itself and hollymood entertainment in a positive light im totally cool with you guys making trailers.

I just wouldn't want anymore footage leaked out onto the internet that I already used and I would have to approve the trailer before it is released.

anybody interested, contact me.

I know what Moody was trying to achieve with this video.

But he failed.

your negativity towards a dvd with all your friends in it says a lot. me failing is a matter of your perception. I like the trailer, is it long, yes, but is it what I wanted to achieve, yes.

Trailer was awesome, I thought it was so sick how the muppets barrel clip transitioned with the music, only problem being after that the music went back to being slow and then all the clips were fast paced and weird, not all sentimental. maybe if you showed footage of all tragic looking stuff and people writhing around in pain.. but not action stuff, not really an action song. Mr. Safety has a good idea there. Listen to the people you need to make this video. It'll come out much better ;)

lets do it. lets find out who the best homegrown editor is. I'll give the winner $200 and give him 10 free DVDs as well.

we just need to set up a poll/voting system and rules, such as using only the footage that I've already use and released on the internet.

anybody want to try to set this up? I'm totally behind it but I dont think I have the time to properly organize it.

I've been listening since day 1 but 99% of you guys don't suggest anything. I've always been very open about suggestions and such.

I'm glad mr safety has recommendations.

with the tv show, dvds and everything else, every idea you guys have will benefit everything and come right back to benefit you. so share some ideas...

Honestly, I would have only used self inflicted shit for that trailer.

That would fit the song more, also this is all footage.

And it drags on, I would have just had the chorus start it off then fade out.

Dosn't have to be long, would have appreciate some interviews though to give it the Doc feel.

Wow, that was pretty much the worst trailer Ive seen this year.

I expected the music to be only an intro and then change to fast paced action but it never happend.

The editor obviously was very lazy because all he basically did was put all of the video in slo-mo and do it clip by clip. Very very lazy.

Music dragged on, the trailer dragged on. Watching it made me want to either fall asleep or kill myself out of depression.

Whoever edited that should be shot. And whoever approved it should be shot twice.

Someone change Moodys name back.

elliot, thanks for your feedback but I like the trailer. it was the song I wanted, presented the way I wanted it. yeah I wish the music picked up faster but it didn't. I just liked this song a lot. the pick up of the song for me was the ending chorus but I guess u guys don't aggree...
