Myth Of Homegrown

Okay this is a theory I made up, and by made up, I mean "changed name of".

Here is the equation;




And this can lead to two disorders:

1.The Perfectionist-Group that wont release a DVD or Video until they believe it is perfect. This results in lack of video releases and eventually stress when the video isn't a hit.

2.The under-achieveing-Group that wont release video fearing failure, and or, rejection.

This is just a theory, but the more I talk to groups it seems that it's somthing that alot of groups are falling into.

Justification is an excuse for apathy, consider that equation.

Damn, that is a good equation.

But I don't see how it pertains to this one?

Easily, it equates perfectly.

It means, when people try to justify actions of theirs or others it is simply apathy. Implying most are probably too lazy to do shit ATM.

I don't get it dude? Get on MSN and explain it to me.

It's simple.

People arn't not releasing because their afraid of doing so, they're doing it because they either plan on saving content for their DVD's, or are simply too lazy to film. Besides, most releases nowadays are mixups of old content.

No worries though, summer is when shit starts getting revitalised in the homegrown scene as people are on holidays and usually have jack shit to do.

lol dude iI was kidding I just rember when I signed up the first time a year ago, a bunch of people was like, "you cant post a video like that" Webby would murder you.

Post any video's. Not many are posted nowadays. And webby used to rip everyone on videos. He and I had a few internet throw downs. It's all to help the progress of your filming.

A penny saved is a penny earnt.

This is just my opinion but it gives me the shits when groups save EVERYTHING for a DVD.

If people like your stuff prior to your DVD being out (and have a fanbase) you're more likely to sell more DVD's when it comes out anyway.

For me, I wanted to make sure as many people saw our stuff as possible, thats why we put so much online every week. The DVD was an afterthought at the end of us and we just wanted to put all our stuff on one DVD for us.

We never did it for the money and we got a bigger rush the more people saw our stuff than money can ever bring.

Stunts take money and time, it just isn't a priority at this later stage in life.
