don't get a dvc30 unless you are for real.

spend around 500-600 on a nice mini DV, and then spend the rest to make it nicer with a mic, add on handle, light, tapes, tripod, camera bag, and shit like that.

Exactly what I wanna do.

I know people recommended these two before:
PV-GS250
PV-GS300

But I can't find them anywhere, although I can find Panasonic NV- GS250's, and the same with NV-GS300's, I'm guessing there just exactly the same, just a different name over here?
The NV ones arn't listed on camcorderinfo.com, but they look exactly the same on UK sites..... does anyone know if theres a difference, or, if they have just replaced the PV with NV?

Here's a pic of the NV-GS250 version, looks like the PV one:
NV-GS250

Anyone know??! :sad2:

Those are the god damn worst cameras on the market. Didn't you read my review of the GS250? Biggest piece of shit I've ever laid my hands on. Seriously..

my friend has a GL2 so I can tell you honest opinions.

the dvc20 has a better overall quality in low light and it beats the GL2 in almoost every field. the one thing that is apparent is that the GL2 has WAY better audio pickup.

I would suggest buying a mic if you get a GL2.

Yeah its true, the DVC30 doesnt have very good audio. When I compare the DVC30 footage to VX2100... the difference in the audio is amazing. The VX2100 has such crisp audio..

Thank fuck I didn't buy it.... I was about too, I read the reviews and they sound pretty decent.

Weak, any chance you can recommend me a few Mini DV cams?
I'm not really bothered about any features really.
As long as it has good video quality that's all I need, also decent in low light too, if possible.

Also, I only have like £600, at the most, but thats about $1000.

Any help?

Thanks.

It wont be an accurate comparison, because many things will vary in the picture, the surroundings, settings on the cam, etc...

actually I dig the panasonic gs250 alot(if I remember right u had 150 weak)
its crappy in low light and theres no nightvision/shot. but its never been a problem, if footage is real dark I fuck with the brightness/contrast in adobe, and it looks like grainy nightvision.
it looks fuckin awesome during the day, especially in florida, all the colors are ultra vibrant. I took this cam to ohio and the colors were duller.
I can see why this cam wouldnt be great for alot of u guys, if u film alot of shit at night get something else.
