HGC Review

here is my review

first of all this dvd was a let down for me since I wasnt happy with our section at all

I think the editor edited our part in 55 minutes...he picked the worst stunts and skateboarding that we sent and we sent 50 minutes of raw fottage and from all that we got a 4 minute section with no editing and a poor selection of stunts

for all the people that still waiting for our dvd you should know that we will have better things in our own dvd

positive things:

arse marks,gmc,dang,dvlh and muppets kicked ass!!!
nice material and I enjoyed alot out of it

dan your fucking funny loved this section

muppets : nice stuff like carts and the fireblowing rocket stunt

arse marks: was a fucking awesome section very funny a kept me entertained

gmc: awesome bails, skating and random shit...great section

dvlh: just one word...awesome

overall a good entertaining dvd but let me down for our section

if there will be a second one we will be in but I will edit our own fottage this is the last time someones fucking up with our fottage

I was also dissapointed with your section really The editing especially, which was the same in every section really, although DanG's was ok, and Muppets' too.

I edited my own part

yeah if I had some unsigned bands I wouldof edit our part myself

I was really dissapointed with it tho

we sent a fottage of olur guy broking a leg with a great jump but apperntly this awesome lotr editor didnt see it

well hgc2 will be better for sure

cause the first one was great not including our part tho

I did that for the retardz section...but it didnt flow with the standed movie maker edits...so it was removed

Extazy, we looked over all your footage and the other group's footage in depth. Honestly, you guys probably didn't send out the footage you think you did because nothing got past our eyes.



Webby, your section was removed for other reasons and you know why. If another HGC dvd gets made it will all be edited in house by my editor. It's too much of a legal responsibility to put it in the hands of people I never met, even though I know u guys on here.

Plus, I just hired a new editor today that will be working here. She's a great editor, very creative and great with graphics and effects.

Thanks for the feedback on our section, sucks yours didn't turn out too good. Can't wait to see this.

clue # 1: don't rib a producer in his own dvd.

depends if that 'producer' can take a joke, iv been ribbed on camera afew times and im going to put it in our dvd...

[rant]I do find it funny how its 'your' dvd all the time when none of the content has nothing to do with you when it was made. its more HGF DVD they put the effort & skill into making it. u just put in some money and payed someone to put it together [/rant]

who can know better what I sent then a guy filming homegrown for two years and sitting 2 days copying material into a tape for you

there is this one scene where our guy doing an ollie over the little ramp and never made the trick just stands on the ground...why did your awesome editor will put a trick if he didnt make it? no bail or nothing...you know why?

cause you never looked over all our footage in depth

I'd never give my footage to someone I dont know who I can't even trust. I have my own creativity and own thoughts about my footage. I know which parts I like and how I want to edit them.. Im a perfectionist so I'd never give my shit in hands of someone who will just edit it together to make a few bucks. Your motivated to edit your own shit and you want it to look good..

its the same as if you'd make someone's homework for a few bucks.. you would do it crappy

extazy, your footage was looked over in depth. it's too bad you're upset but nothing can be changed now.

webby, your tape and everything will be sent out soon. finally got out the last of the orders yesterday so I can work on other packages now.

there is no way mike you couldof missed a guy braking a leg in an amazing jump, 11 stairs backside run, front filp into barb wires and more

if I could edit our own part next time count me but if not I dont think we will be up for all of that again

sales have been coming in for the dvd but nothing compared to the sales of new jack: hardcore. why this is I don't know because I thought the homegrown collection would outsell new jack: hardcore and maybe it will once the dvd gets more, but another producer told me why he thinks these kinds of dvd don't sell strong online. his theory was that there is a ton of 'homegrown' style footage everywhere online to view for free and a lot of people think the've seen it all. I had this theory about week ago but he gave me his opinion and it was the same as mine. he said that dvds like this sell very well in the stores and on tv because often the people watching tv or shopping in stores aren't the same people watching video clips online all the time and it's like a different breed of potential consumer.

a lunch meeting is set up for today with the tv commercial people as well. they called me back and want to pitch to me what they want to do and they want to do something obviously because they are the ones that booked this second meeting today, not me. I'll let you guys know what is going on later today.

I just got our copies, haven't watched it all yet, but calling yourself the director in the opening of it, kind of makes sense I know, but don't think you should have but it. editing was a big dissapointment mostly, no colour correction on anything, the majority of it wasn't edited to the music at all, especially the first song used in our section, is shit. but case and cover etc, looked pro, menu was pro but lacked something I dunno what.

I read it, not sure what u want me to say but we had all the footage in front of us and we would have seen that footage. we had everything media managed very well.
