Why is anyone even worrying about doing better? I just went down to Best Buy and bought myself a copy and hell Elliot, why don't you just go down to the theater and watch it yourself? I just saw the commercial for it a second ago on TV. What are the worries here? It's not like the primary means of distribution and promotion are a Myspace account or anything...

the dvd will be in stores soon enough in n. america, europe and australia/new zealand, some distribution in china on the internet and next week the distribution company that sells product through commercials is wide open but I'm not investing $8,000 right now

myspace and youtube are just easy ways to promote and it helps spread word of mouth and its free. you know very little about distribution, promotion, or anything else you would like to try to criticize me about.

im working and dedicating all my time on establishing a label, a line of 5-10 dvd productions to start off in the stores in N. America and to be honest I don't have the time, patience or need to constantly update non-important people like yourself that think they're funny when really you're just full of uninformed bullshit.

Oh geez! I'm "non-important"!

Haha, nice grammar. I don't mean to sound like a dick, I just like to give you a hard time. Someone has to do it since Buck's kids aren't around anymore.

yeah, you're way beyond uninformed. you're probably 15 years old for crying out loud and you think you know the world. you're pathetic son. you've probably never worked a day in your life so you should be careful what you say about the work of others because you have no ground to stand on.

What stores will it be in over here?

not known yet 100%. it's easiest to guess which stores in the usa it will be sold in but it would be like best buy, tower records, sam good, fye, etc. for europe, I'm not sure what stores it would sell in but it would distributed by a major company if everything goes as planned.

Just got my 5 copies. Really enjoyed it. Definantly basic editing (which is fine for me) and all the content was kick ass.

You've seen the dvd and you say "basic editing" so I want to ask you and other guys, want kind of stylizing would you guys like? More what? Less what?

QUOTE(Rico @ Mar 24 2006, 07:25 PM)

Yeah I just won that contest so I'll have an extra if you wanna buy it from me or something.

How are sales Moodster?

sales are decent. new jack is selling much better. homegrown will pick up soon with some word of mouth and soon there will be some distribution so be patient. don't worry about sales, worry more about trying to promote and in the end we'll all do better.

Don't worry, I am promoting as hard as I can. And I'm gonna buy the New Jack DVD aswell.

And about the editing Moody, I didn't have aproblem with it, it was just basic clip-to-clip. No really effects or transitions or titles, but I'm fine with that too. I know other editing wizards are gonna rip on it though.

It does the job, and thats all that matters.

I definantly liked some of the ffects, like in the Arse Marks section, when the skater breaks his ankle, and you zoom up on it, I liked that a lot.

there's effects in there but you probably didn't notice them. the transitions part is kind of true but some transitions just look so weird and I felt this style flowed a lot better for this kind of video.

you're welcome, enjoy it

rico, I still think that the music is better than you give it credit for. it'snot generic, its just indy bands mainly and they ussually have more meaning than the mainstream bullshit out there. one of the bands schleprock in the dvd used to be signed to warner brothers.

there's like 3 or 4 songs I would change, looking back on the dvd and I would change several edits and the way the dvd is layed out but what is done is done.

I don't know how to do that. Sorry.

And Moody, watching it again, the music wasn't that bad. Your right, some songs were a ittle iffy. I really liked the hip hop song in Ghost Monkey's section, which, by the way, is another awesome section.

I enjoyed it overall.

I'm 18 years old and have had a REAL job for years. I've worked at Tim Hortons for 3 years now. And don't call me son, I'm not Buck's kids for God's sake. Just remember how much you bitch and moan about being on the FAG team and how much you want to be taken off. Yet look where you stand.

You make a fool of yourself by letting someone like me bother you, since I am so menial and "non-important" as you so eloquently put it. Why don't you go stand by a pool and look really pissed off for no reason. Tool.

the new jack documentary is a ton of different footage. my footage from the past 5 years combined with wrestling match footage from at least 3 or 4 promotions, promo footage which is gold, footage of New Jack in San Francisco was licensed to me, New Jack's own personal on the road footage that he personally shoots was used. there's also a lot of photos from 3 different photographers. there's a lot of content.

Ok

First off, liked the menu, and liked the entrance, good choice of clips for the opening montage. Now for the groups

*Trailer Park Mafia - Decent stuff, tons of drunken clips and clips of people smashing glass objects over their heads, stage show footage, and blowing fire which was cool. I didn't like there section as much as other peoples, but it still had some footage.
*Asstreme - Really liked this section, I had seen a lot of the footage in previous mix ups, but still all good stuff, good bush jumps (the flip and the one out of the tree), the guys who is standing on the rail and gets hit with the cart, and of course, the screaming burning person. Liked the music for this section, good editing (clip to clip stuff), good footage, overall one of the better sections.
*Ghost Monkeys of Chaos - Probably my 2nd favorite section on this whole video. Awesome footage. Some real sick skateboard crashes (tons of brutal falls), and some awesome dives (face plants off roofs into dirt and hay), and more. Hadn’t seen much of these guys, but this was quality stuff. Clear footage, good skating, good music (hip hop), smooth editing. Really liked this one. Looked like a skate mix up right out of a professional skate video
*Muppets - Fucking awesome. Best section of the whole video. Great, great content, just overall pleasing. Tons of great stunts (box dives, tons of hard ass slaps, table breaks, tons of fire, a thumbtack paddle {which, by the way, I‘m going to steal that idea and do it}) and had probably my favorite stunt in the whole video. A guy is tied to a moped, and the bike accelerates, and the guy tied goes face down HARD into the ground. Sick. “Fuck. Fuck guys, seriously.” Also the guy at the party just staring at the camera with a smile who just gets punched so damn hard. 2nd half of there section was kind of like a documentary/Dirty Sanchez feel with people interviewing and commenting on things. (such as the infamous back burn). I have watched this section tons of times. Another one with good music and editing. Top notch Muppets, love your stuff. You guys making a full length DVD.
*Arse Marks - Was very proud of our footage, glad to see we had a lot, but we are defiantly not as hardcore as the other groups. Oh well. Hope you guys enjoy, we have some good stunts in this (Ladder to Ladder, my bridge jump, blowing up a microwave, etc) and I liked how ours was edited. Started with just regular clips, no music, then we had a montage. I liked it. Like I said, I hope you guys like our shit too. Liked our montage song too, long an old Ramones song. I was satisfied.
*Who Gives a Shit - This section was ok, didn’t like the content too much, they had some good stuff with guys in metal garbage cans riding down hills with was pretty cool, and the guy running up the moving car. Move of a lighter, fun section. They like tackling too. And of course, another one of the best stunts on the whole video, the rollerblader off the jump, as seen in the teaser. SICK clip.
*Death vs. Luke Hadley- A lot of footage from the old Best of Backyard Wrestling videos, which is good stuff, but I’ve seen it. Had some definite brutal wrestling moves with chairs and tables, and of course, the out doors. They also have the lick the wound clip, which was fucking nasty.
*Short Bus - Another decent section, with some good clips, such as the guy getting hit by the car, and the puke pouring on someone. Had a lot of dumb little screwing around clips (not in a bad way) and some sunts, and some boxing.
*Dan G - Dan G is fucking nuts, if you didn’t already know. Tons of self inflicted pain and beer. What a combo. Very Steve-O like, but more brutal. Stage show footage, and drunken home footage Loved the clip where the guy jumped on his head and his forehead went into the thumbtacks. “I heard a fucking crunch on my brain man.” Haha. Nail in the fingernail made me cringe. His finale mix up was awesome, tons of footage, with some great music. Good editing overall aswell.
Bonus - All the stuff was fun, even with a little Extreme Harma section. Liked the bonus tuff for everyone.

Was pleased with the editing, as I said, pretty basic clip to clip minimal transitions and stuff, but it does the job. Some of the music was lame, other stuff was cool.

Best section - Muppets, then Ghost Monkeys.

Thanks
