NMV vs. AP




It was a great set-up for a faceoff. Accident prone, that ive always known to have a lot of potential, challenging one of my favorite groups NoMercyVideos. Before I saw the videos I was pretty sure that No Mercy would take this, the shit ive seen by them has always been top drawer. But I gotta say that when I saw the videos for the first time I was happy and tbh. amazed to see Accident Prone pulling off some insane shit. I was a little bit dissapointed with NMV allthough their video was really good and I got a good feeling from it, it's just that I expect so much from NMV. As im Writing this ive only watched the videos once.. so im gonna watch them again and continue to write this afterwards.... brb...

The begining of the video was preatty weak in my opinion... the hidious boobs and the stupid laugh didnt make me excited about the rest of the video.

But luckily the video then goes to real action with task #35 done in a very cool way hc stunt well fitted with the music made me a bit more excited... but a 2nd angle would have been gold here...

BY THE WAY! allthrough the video there is only one slowmo which is horribly annoying and unnescessary imo. It's put in after the geniously crafted mousetrap stunt which was good... but the slowmo just didnt fit in...

My favorite subject in hg is jumps. And I gotta say I was happy with AP's jumps... The one over the car was really great... BUT AGAIN.. 2nd angle?(maybe you only have one cam? GET AN OTHER ONE and a lense) That would give the editor something to go at... and the viewer something nice and more artistic to watch.
What a funny moment when one of the guys 'hid' under the matress... oooh good times.

I allso wanna give some props on the hammer hit... The hammerguy hit his victim in the thigh as if it would have fucked his mom.

ooooh yes #17 The carsmash... I think the guy getting ran over should be happy to be a live, lol, no really.. take it easy! And here they had a 2nd angle that was pretty much ruined by the bad timing of the windshieldwipers horrible weather by the way... oh and the editing was weak... if you have 2 angles there is no excuse for this kind of editing(WMM is not an excuse).

The firework stunts were... well lets skip that...

The bicycle firestunt was better than the nomercy one.. but as I have seen what vode can do with fire and a bicycle I wasnt really amazed...

The combined stunt with task #2 & #3 was a good idea that didnt go as planned? Too bad... it could have been a great stunt... do it again!!!

#00 Eeehh... three kids walking by... I think everyone would agree that erasing that from the vid would be a great idea.


Conclusion
Well im not happy with the editing at all.. im not happy with the dull and gray use of camera(s) Accident Prone are a bag of unpolished stones that could turn out to be diamonds if you rub them enough...or not. Well what I mean by that is: If accident prone would put more weight on producing a good video with good editing, good camerawork and some artistic use of camera I would be really happy... Allso filming at night with a bad camera is never a good idea... filming in bad weather is allso stupid, IF you can do it when you have a blueskie. Well enough with that. AP pulls crazy stunts and they really put them selves out there... there were not really any half ass stunts. So Ap is definitely gonna be big when they learn to make it look good for the viewers.




NMV

As soon as I press play im like "woooaaah" this is gonna be great! Good music choice nicely edited intro! This gave me a great feeling straight away. props.

This video was fastpaced which made it easy to watch, but a bit harder to review.


I wasnt suprised to see that some of the stunts were done in true smackdown spirit! both in good and bad... Great wrestlingmoves! that, I dont mind... but the showtype acting and simplyfying showcasing is something that I find annoying and ridiculous.


I have to say that some stunts were not very good... offcourse all tasks cant suit every group but for instance the bicycle thru fire was really dissapointing... I expected more originality in the car crash stunt which was good as a stunt but not good enough. I would have liked more hardcoreness with the mousetraps and a faster fanspeed. And 'all' the jumps were basic.


What I really liked was the dropkicking the crippled trizz which was one of the best stunts in the whole faceoff. The tacks in Leroys ear... ouch.. true nomercy spirit! The usage of barbedwire really showed both crazyness and inventive skills The CD task was very well done.. in everyway... crazy bastards.


Conclusion

Not as good as I expected. Which doesnt mean that it was bad!!!!!! No Mercy is still one of the best groups but they need to bring something new to their arsenal of stunts. No Mercy use their cameras in a professional way... I was hoping for some more interesting video angles and some more second angles.. but im still happy with the package...







By reading this you know what I think about the videos... but as im not here to just blablabla babble...

I judge in favor of Accident Prone

-AP had better content and that is really the only reason why I vote AP



No Mercy had better editing, better filming and some of their tasks were better done like the CD breakage, Dropkick and usage of the Tacks.





I had a hard time to decide which team to pick as winners... but then I decided that this is a face-off about stunts and not about editing and video production(as much, atleast)



I still think that NMV is better than AP. But not in this Face-Off

Make it easy for the editor and use those cameras wisely and well Plan the sunts carefully and good and they will look much better on film...

Actually, Pickled Eggs said that the winner gets one of their DVD's

Sorry for being a dick earlier, Thanks to all for their suport, and to all who sent criticism, it will help us later on in our future vid endeavors. We will be out of comission for a while, as we are producing our second DVD, so if any group wants to face off, haha, you will have to wait for a while, but we are open for challenges. We are gonna stay around the forums. At least I will be. I think we are going to focus on editing our Second video and try and get better at it. Thanks to the judges for judging and everyone for watching. Like Mike said, it was really fun doing this faceoff.

Yes we do, it is $10 Canadian, it is pretty good, but some of the stunts may seem a bit "meh", but for the most part it has good content, and some pretty crazy stunts, but the biggest downfall is that we were brand new at editing so it may seem a bit slower paced.
