Ok Im having a problem Im wanting to use some good music for my dvd, but thats illegal right? so I was thinking what if I sell something like a pencil for 8$ then give them the dvd as a free gift. Does anyone get what im saying? Cause Im not selling my dvd its free, you just have to buy the pen.

just sel the dvd sure u wont sell enuf to make them check up on it anyway if u only gettin bout 100 sales I dnt think it matters obviously u wanna be safe

its so easy to find other music though, go to www.newgrounds.com and go to the audio portal, thousands of songs from heaps of categories, all for free use as they are unsigned artists.

1.) Thats a decent question. Im not positive, as youre talking about civil litigation, and I know more about crime and punishment. I do believe that would work, and Im familiar with the concept.
2.) You need to get in contact with whoever owns the rights to the music, and you need to have them license you the music. You'll need some forms for that, forms that I dont have at the moment. Sorry.

This is actually a perfect loophole. Just a month ago we busted up a party and there were kegs.
The people there were fuckheads to us, and we wanted to charge them for selling beer without a liquor license. But they were able to beat the charge, cause they said they were "selling" hotdogs for 5 bucks, and then you got all the "free" beer you could drink with the purchase of a hotdog.
Different situations but same concept.

haha yeah thats definitely a common loophole. I see people doing that shit all the time. I'm really surprised it hasn't been corrected.

Its been debated over and over around here, and I am sure in just about every courtroom in the USA. We have looked everywhere to see how you could close it, but in the end, as far as I know there is no regulations on prices for pencils nor hotdogs, and giving something away for will always be legal. I have heard stories of people doing stuff like this and writing it off on thier tax's as a "charitable donation," but I think that’s more urban legend than true.

In theory, I guess this could work with drugs? Not that I do any, it just seems if it can work that way, then it could work for selling drugs too. I know handling the drugs would be illegal, but it would bring you a lesser charge wouldn't it?

Drugs are inherently illegal, and possession of them is a crime. So even giving them away is a crime, being that your in possession of them.

Say when we were filming stunts, if my friend hit his head and got some serious injury and or died, like worst case scenario, would I get in trouble for it for just being there watching, I don't think I would and I want to prove a point,

Umm... it all depends. If you told him to do something or bet him he couldn’t do something that hurt or killed him, you could be held partly responsible for telling him to. If you didn’t call an ambulance, I could charge you with "reckless disregard for human life." So, yes, technically there is just about always a charge that I can charge you with and would be a far reach, but would I? Polly not. Its his own fault if he did it, and when something like this happens, the emotional toll of seeing your friend hurt or killed is far worse than any charge I could throw at you for it.

Nah my mums just being a fag and trying to stop me doing homegrown, thats the first real vid of ours she's seen and she just flipped and went on about how I'd get done for manslaughter, and I was like right I'll ask someone who knows properly then....
