I aint even started looking into it yet as im still programing the site - but yeah I want it live.

If you can set somthing up that would be fucking great. I just need to learn how to play music and talk over it at the same time (cuz I dont know how to do any if this yet)

Liking the idea, but having it streamed means some people may not be able to listen to it being in different time zones. Would a podcast version be available so that people can download it whenever?

Sweet as. Once you're close to finishing, what I reccomend is you get a VPS. You can get a VPS with the following specs from rapidvps.com: $9.95 a month, bandwidth = 100 GB/mo, storage = 5.00 GB. Thinking about it, it's better you get a VPS as all the servers I have access to either don't have sufficient spare bandwidth or are unreliable. Once you got the server I can simply install shoutcast and you can point a subdomain of HGV to the servers IP (e.g radio. ). When you order the VPS, if you choose to take this route (you need *root* shell access to install shoutcast properly) then make sure you get Linux, as it gives the best results. Shoutcast is fairly easy to use and you can DJ from a plugin that installs itself to Winamp.

I can also set up a home computer which records the radio show for later replays.

When you need to go live, buzz me after ordering that VPS and I'll install it all for you. As for downloading it, unfortunately this is server-side software and is executed under either Linux or Windows servers. You simply use the DSP client to broadcast the sound from either your soundcard or winamp to the server and the server redistributes it, making it so as long as you have a decent stream rate the quality sounds good no matter how many users are listening to it.

To test yourselves I'd reccomend you do it from Windows sound recorder. Simply turn off any music, and your mic record a blank .wav file, save, close, re-open sound recorder and "insert file", repeat the process till you have enough recording time.

okay, I just took... 1074 songs, and shortened my list to 60... I'll probably only play about 20-25 of them, with some filler of other stuff, so that'll be close to 2 hours probably.

go to the configuration (should be on the song ticker, right beside the lightning bolt) and click that, then go to the tab - equalizer, then right under the speaker balance is your toggle for crossfade between tracks, and the time of the crossfade

Ummm.. I'm not quite sure what you mean... like, fade out into commentary? or fade from song to song? or fade in the middle of a song or something to have commentary?

I dont think you can do what I want,

What I mean is some tracks I want a 8 seconds fade in, but other tracks and I want a 12 second one.
