those episodes were arguably the best though, the ones where tommy and rocky (the red ranger) competed to see who would become the white ranger.

Remember the episode in space, where they fought in the oval or octigon room? It had a lot of fog, always To Be Continued: that pissed me off so much, anyways. My dad ruined my day of one of those episodes by coming in and telling me that I was going to have a brother or sister.

I've been looking for the torrents of the original series, up to where the original actors left because the red, pink and I think black ranger had to go to a martial arts tournament in Japan. well I guess they got killed at that tournament cause they never came back, but anyway.
so yeah, anyone know where they might be? all they have is shitty dino thunder and deep space rescue and that crap.

So another thing I was thinking of: Rita and her lackies had that machine that made the monsters, right? So they designed every aspect of the creatures, then made them from nothing (or rather, clay).
So...conceivably, couldn't they have just programmed the monster to be indestructable and grow back body parts? And how about when it grows, it gets BIGGER than the Megazord instead of exactly the same fucking height? Shit, any advantage you can give it.

Not in my childhood it wasn't.
I watched things like Monkey and Transformers instead.
Power Rangers started when I was in grade 5 or 6 if I remember correctly, and I also remember putting shit on the some of kids in my class who watched it.
Perhaps I was a little too mature at that age to appreciate it.
