This is Keanu Reeves new movie. Not sure what to say about the plot, but the 'animation look' this film has is fucking gay.

I have no idea. All I know is that it's going to make the movie difficult to enjoy. It looks like a fucking cartoon...

Nah not really. Sin City had a comic book look to it, but wasnt to heavily distorted. A Scanner Darkly looks like a fucked up Simpsons episode or something lol.

just watched it, mang I it looks like something I pulled outta my ass, something strange and wonderfull, I may even pay to see this, just to laugh at how horendous reeves looks as a cartoon in it. lawl

I like the effect, I saw a movie done like this before, was about death and each scene was someones view on the afterlife, it was pretty cool

A friend just sent me a link to the trailer.. personally, I like how it looks. Everything seems very fluid and flows nicely. I just hope the whole look they were going for wasn't done just for the sake of looking original.
Hopefully it won't turn out to be a huge pile of sawdust-covered-vomit.

Its just a gimmick really. But I like it. Something slightly different. It looks good tho...clever how its done the whole way through.

I thought that looked pretty sweet. I'll probably go see this, the cell shaded effect looks real nice. As Slim said I hope it has a decent storyline and isn't just a gimmick.

I can definitely understand why they'd wanna do the anaimation thing, pushing the boundaries and all that shizz nizz.
The storyline looks good, but the concept definitely isn't original.

anyone notice a strange trend between Keanu Reeves and genre-bending techno-thrillers about the world being more than it seems? Or just me?
looks pretty good. I for one took a liking to the animated style, from what I see in the trailer it looks like they'll use it to incorporate effects (there was one guy literally stripping his face off and turning into someone else).
Plus it's written by Philip "Bladerunner" Dick, so the plot can't be half bad either.

IMDbyeah man...but I said "by just viewing the trailer" .... the movie seems to have a good premise but the trailer didnt do it justice. If anything it made it look like shit. The trailer doesnt give you any real idea of what the film is about, thus why I asked 'what looks sweet about this movie'. I guess people liked it for the animaton effect alone, cause I'll be damned if there was anything else that looked remotely interesting in it..
EDIT - I just watched it again...okay it makes a bit more sense I guess... still a pretty shit trailer..

I saw this today. It was pretty good I guess but not at all how I expected.
It had a few humourous moments but overall was kinda...unfulfilling. The storyline was interesting but kinda weak I guess, basically about an undercover drugs agent in the near future who himself becomes an addict.
I'd recommend it I suppose, the visuals are pretty sweet but that's probably the strongest part of the movie.

This movie was done by the director of Dazed and Confused, not to mention the film Waking Life; which has the exact same animation look to it. I find the animation gives an interesting look to the movies; not to mention that it is a very unique method.
