I don't think it's fair, they ain't worried about the bomb but more the fact that no one is allowed to draw p[ics of their diety and I think that should be adhered too...
03 February 2006, 16:08 UTC#4
Im with sam, I think its disrespectful to their cutlure and religion to draw pictures of Muhammad
03 February 2006, 16:12 UTC#5
Hahaha that pic was posted in a norwegian newspaper,so now they are sitting outside all of the norwegian embassys in the middle east waving with ak47`s,threathening to kill every norwegian in theyre country if not the norwegian government goes on tv and make an apology.
I cant fucking stand religion, espescially one thats so clearly against freedom of speech.
but if they want to fuck with the norwegians down there,we can fuck with the muslims here.
two can play that game
it may be disrispectful, but does a fucking comicstrip justify kidnappings and death threats?

Maybe yes it is disrespectful... I do understand that. But is killing someone and threating them the right way to stop it? yes in there eyes it is because that is part of there religion and there laws.
So I dont give a fuck if I disrespect something like that that

Your the kind of person who has made it so that Islam is blamed instead of the terriorists
The terrorists only claim to be part of the religion of Islam, but Islam does not condone anything they do or have done in the past in any way

Maybe. But you just have to look at the way they live and the way they deal with crime. there is a reason why there countrys have not moved on since 0AD. there in the same state then as they are now.
A country that stones a person to death or beheads them and makes cartoon shows banned is not a nice place. So screw them
03 February 2006, 17:55 UTC#10
It's not disrespectful in the sense of blasphemy like slating jesus or whatever, they do not picture prophets or whatever for reasons that their religion states and that just makes it uber degrading that we draw a picture of him let alone draw a picture of him slating every fucking muslim that's alive...
Just seems like a stupid thing to do at a time of conflict so unstable.

So do they. Iraq and place very close do that but much worse. And I was talking more about how they deal with punishments. And alot of the laws there are for things such as adultery and not follow there bible... even if you dont agree with it.

The thing is though it's not as degrading, Not even they are allowed to draw pics or try to put whatever his name was in an immage. Our legal system could be seen as just as fucked, when people get 60 days for rapping people and stuffs, stoning sounds better sometimes don't you think...
I ain't saying I agree with what they're doing but you gotta understand how offensive it is what they've done, it's not like drawing a picture of an iraqui with a bomb but because this dude should not be drawn or visualised and they've done that knowingly, all they have to do is apologise and whats the harm in that

thats not it man. I know alot more about these places then most people do. I know alot of people from there (I live in Bristol England for gods sake... its full of them) but I do NOT see why I should respect someone or something when there country does these things.
Yes Maybe I should think the same about USA... But no I just think that BUSH has some issues..... But I did agree with the war at first but do not anymore.
And I see pics and flash movies making fun of him all the time.... But the same I dont care.
if I went there and stood up and told them I do not believe in tehre faith some places would have me killed... That is what I do not respect. Maybe it is only a few that do these beheadings and mureders... But when the Twin Towers were hit there was 1000s of chants and chears for it here... So it cant be afew.

still think that Islam condones terrorism

Maybe if you knew the wya they think (Just normal muslims) you would understand where I am coming from.
I have not once said that is terrorists doing it. You just assumed I meant that. if you learnt about there relisgion you would understand there is no freadom of speech at all. Religion is law. Women are 3ed class and anyone who does not follow it is doomed into hell... so is bad.
I know this has fuck all to do with the pic taht started this thread but you are saying I am seeing them all in the same light... But you are sticking up for this religion without even knowing what comes from it.
As I said before about the twin towers... When London was bommbed here in Bristol there were chants and parties... Alot of people here liked what happened... And these are not terrorists....
03 February 2006, 20:36 UTC#29
There's a big difference between Muslims and terrorists, terrorists use Islam as an excuse to hurt people and to opress and bully people weaker than them BUT THEY HAVE NO PART IN ISLAM

I don't pick "sides" judge everything on it's merit and I think that they have a right to be pissed off at this. Do you think flaming them is gonna make them any less likely to blow shit up? The people that would even consider being a terrorist obviously aren't going to be the most calm tempered people so why add fuel to the fire? They were wrong to do what they did because it offended a whole religion, not just the terrorists but innocent people. Some of which are on our side, some of which are not. Why should they have to suffer as a result of the other people. Now yes some of the terrorists do come under the muslim umbrella and im sure that it is mainly the millitants that are over reacting and threatening to kill people not the others. So basically we flame them to get a cheap shot at our "enemy" and end up offending an entire religion, that is unfair and those people did not deserve it. All of this could have been saved if the editors of the paper had shown a little empathy and just not done what they did.
