how much do you think that would cost....and given the right technology couldnt anyone build an island or do you need permission...also if I build an island in international waters can I declare it my own country?

You can declare anything as a country, even an apartment block if you get the right permissions, I've seen it on TV. Not sure of the specifics, but I do think it's complicated. An island may have to be self sufficient, but you may be able to get pipelines bringing in electricity, internet etc.
Hypethetically speaking of course, either way it'd cost a ton.

You really cant lol. Yuo can decalre it a country I suppose, but it legally wont be.

I did some research....it seems that most islands that already have houses setup are around 2-5 million. Although, I saw some POS islands for around $200,000 but I dont those ones have houses and utilities.
