I don't get why people are anti-JVC. They're not the best, but not as bad as people make out.

Ive got a JVC and they're not as bad as people say, but you could still do alot better with a cheap 3CCD cam

Kelkoo

Some of the shit on there is pretty expensive, but some are good quality, cheap camcorders

For consumer cameras...Sony is top of the line...mainly because they do extremely well in low light conditions. I've owned well over a dozen different cameras so far, mostly consumer cams...and my best experiences were with Sony. JVC cams are alright...Panasonic's were usually crap. And I wouldnt touch Samsung with a ten foot pole. I never owned a Canon though...so cant comment on those.

But in the world of prosumer cameras....I think Sony loses it's edge. Canon, Panasonic, and JVC all offer killer high end cams. Although to be honest...Ive been lost ever since 24p and HD came into the picture. Im really hoping someone will eventualy be able to explain what all this new shit is about. I hear 24p is a hoax and is completely useless its transferred to film, and I hear HD is also useless unless you have a hi-def television set. Im totally lost on all that shit.

HD I think is something thats not much use now but will be in 5-10 years time. When I used to sell TVs I had the training on them and alot of companys are soon going to be just selling HD TVs and your normal tube TVs will be stopped... apart from your cheap TV companysi guess.... Bush, goodmans, and then types.

So I guess HD Cams are good if you want to keep up with the times and want your DVD to look good in 5-10 years time.

Ive seen what the diff is and I swear there is a big difference. And when normal TV and things catch up it will be great. You can now download TV shows in HD so it shows that the big TV shows are investing already.
