Best buy is a rip off, do not buy it from there.

As for the camera, it looks pretty standard. It's most likely not much of an improvement from your current cam.

If you are looking for a low-end Sony camera though, Costco happens to have one. It's a little bit more than the one on Best Buy, but its worth the extra money because the camera is backed by Costco's full-refund life long warranty.

I don't have the extra 79 bucks though, and I'm just looking for a camera with a good picture and nightshot.

I use it and I'm pretty sure so does Boner Jones.

Basically, you get what you pay for.

Okay, but I guarantee you that camera will eventually break on you and it will lose all of its value. If you buy it from Costco you can at least return it and get 100% of your' money back. Wait and save. I've purchased and returned nearly a dozen cameras from Costco in the past 5 years. It's the smartest thing you can do.

I have practically the same model, it looks the same but it's one thing higher, and a 1 megapixel picture. Pretty decent cam, quite small, touch screen etc. You really notice the picture difference between that and my friends 1 chip cams, so I would try and get the 'DCR-HC-40E
I payed for a 5 year warranty on that, and had the whole thing replaced this year because it stopped working or something.. But the cunt got stolen a few months back, shit sucks.
