Maybe make people make accounts to put footage on, the accounts are free. After they've put on five video's make them pay for unlimited video usage... Not much but enough you know?

not 1 cent profit? What methods are you currently trying?

If you have those stats and still aren't making any money...then you ought to just sell the site for as much as you can..

btw..so far the new fishandshit design looks pretty good. Keep it basic and allow adult content...and you might have better luck with Adverts. I'd go for a WTFpeople type of site if I was you.

How much would dfilms be worth to the right buyer?

probably not worth this much but at the moment I wouldnt let it go for anything under $15,000 .....might be overpriced but so much time went into building this userbase

$15,000????!!!1111 Its not worth a tenth of that dude. I could put a fuckload of effort into something and have an alright product, doesn't mean it's worth a few grand. Starts bids at $3000, that's about the max someone would be willing to pay for a bandwidth hog that barely generates enough revenue to cover its running costs.

How about you dont overcrowd the place with shit videos, therefore have mods approve a video is up to a high standered, and try getting more ads, and spreading your link around more.

EDIT: Also the actual site looks boring, needs more brighter and nicer colours and design and porn.

THat could mean losing a lot of usage, but if people ain't paying for it it's most likely going to be the shitters, there's no way u can come around it other than start charging for usage or sell your mother for sex

Minus the porn that's a good idea...

I think the videos should be catagorized, it's hard to tell what any video is about, especially when the name given is 'omg haha'.
20 December 2005, 16:28 UTC#15
yeah or when its like omg owned and then you look and its a video clip of a game Image file not present in the recovered backup

Points to make it more interesting:

- better design.. sorry to whoever made it but it's so dark and boring.. blegh
- mods who approve the videos. Have a page that is accesable for mods with all the videos that still need to be checked. If someone clicks it and watch it he should be able to APPROVE or DENY the clip, whatever he does the link will disappear from the "to do" list.
- competitions, having fun tasks, projects, storyline to make a movie to every week/ month.
- more ads (no pop ups)
- let people pay for people who want their "custom" disturbedfilms page. With this I mean instead of the Disturbed Films design around the video they should be able to have their own custom design around it. But of course in that case Hot linking should be forbidden.

I dunno man.. :)

I just clicked on the latest media and it was some geeky clan battle.

The purpose of site is to upload videos instantly and allow unlimited viewing, so therefore it would require:

1. work
2. workers to do the work
3. the uploader to be patient

a bit out of reach, but fishandshit will be more content oriented, the only things we will delete from dfilms is pretty much anything that is copyrighted and has been requested to be taken down, and other obvious reasons it might be taken down.

once again, work, and people to organize each idea

Well, weve been trying biggrin.gif

great idea, we were thinking about doing something similar, just had to work out the specifics, hmm,

in conclusion, I would like to do alot of the following

, maybe for the videos, have them upload and show right away, but not be flagged as apporved, and a mod would see ones that are not approved, so they could flag as good, or delete if its bad,

someday soon we will do a new theme, after a lot of research planning, coding, etc

If youre gonna try and make cash off advertising, you need to offer more reasonable prices. Last I heard..some hosting company was paying you $50 a month right? Thats overpriced man. Buckwild even said you sent him hardly any traffic when he advertised with you guys...when a hosting company places ad's...all they care about is conversions...so if they are no longer advertising with you..its probally because you gave them 0.

Besides...look at your compeition...we're offering advertising for $6 a month. Im not sure what our stats are, but im certain that it's a good deal..

anyways...I think it just takes time for a website to take off. You're expecting results to soon.

you're saying for $30 a month you're giving another site 60,000 unique visitors?

I think the problem with Dfilms is its the same as all the other video sites... it offers nothing new.

You need to think what is it that sucks about all the otehr sites and find what would keep people on the site. As I said before I do think RSS is the way to go. I know many people here do not use it but there is life out of HGF and they use it. People would much rather uplaod videos to sites that have updates to 10000s of people within afew mins... and RSS offers that.

Also I think it needs to have a new face-lift and make it less crowded and more simple and clean.

Once you get a better PR with google and other sites go on some big PR sites and offer banner space.

yeah, updates to 10,000's of people, lol

get on msn, I dont see you on there much

Thing is.... I really do not see banners as a big money maker... whoever clicks them? I dont.... takes something real good for me to click a banner. People see them everyday now so they dont get botherd by them.

You need some otherway to make cash and some people do pay for links.... Sounds stupid but its to get a good pr. and your site has good traffic so people might want taht
