Kinda lame... Plenty of boobs though. If I were a moron, it would have been hard to piece together I think.

Yup. I was so happy to see this the first night it came to theaters. Rushed to the theaters and everything and hated it. If I wanted to watch a porn movie, I would have, but I wanted to watch a scary movie.

Overall, I hated this movie.

I've never seen this film. Everyone elses negative points about it made me never wanna pay to see it.

Same with Scary Movie 4, but I just hate everything to do with 'spoofs'.

Haha, I watched Wolf Creek last night, it was so shitty. I do however think, The Hills Have Eyes was worse. But yeah, both Wolf Creek and The Hills Have Eyes are on my top 5 shittiest movies of the year list so far.

Yeah the whole Quentin Tarantino thing was for promotion. He helped them on like 2 fucking scences, so they threw his name in there to make people think he did the whole movie. He should donkey kick em.

That film was amazing. It was one of those films you don't look at for being good but was funny at how rediculous it was. Like when they ran those two bitches down and that one survived, and then WHAM. Priceless. Or when those little kids beat down those body builder types for bubble gum.

Total and utter disappointmen. Way overrated, just like Cabin Fever, Roth's last film.
It was just typical American hero-survives-against-all-odds bullshit with some decidedly mediocre gore.

Even the bits that were supposed to be satirical/humorous didn't work for me. And don't get me wrong, I wanted this to be a good film, but it really wasn't. It was just a shame.

I agree, Cabin Fever was the suck. I haven't seen Hostel, but I've heard nothing but bad things from everyone who's seen it.

A funny thing was hearing the guy speaking German all the time with his bad American accent. He should have trained his German lines better. Were there subtitles in US cinemas?

The worst of all films are:

1. 13 Ghosts - this film is a complete insult of the viewer.
2. The Astronaut's Wife - I like complicated stories, independent films, long-winded films, if they are good. But this film should have been titled "The Boredoms Mother"
3. Starwars Episode 1 - Another proof that Lucas is a moron, was a moron and will always be. Man, every 1st grader would have written better dialogue and more complex characters. But he was able to raise the bar with Episode 2 and it's retarded "love story" part.

Oh yeah, I've seen way worse too. But they way they built this movie up as being so gory ("omg an audience member fainted in the previews") as well as slapping Tarantino's name all over it when he was only semi-involved...

I just expected so much more. And it didn't deliver.

lol I didnt care much for hostel but I TOTALLY agree about saw 2, it blew so many homeless dicks I almost turned it off before it finished

Hostel can only hope to be half as clever, shocking and atmospheric as Saw II.

haha Saw 2 was fucking awful man. One of the worst horror films I've seen lately. It was boring as fuck, all the actors sucked dick. Hostel had awesome characters and the film was entertaining.

Saw 1 was mediocre, Saw 2 was abysmal. Saw 3 could be a candidate for my top ten list (see above for the first three places).

I loved 28 Days. This was a film that had everything. There were nice citations of other horror movies, like the supermarket scene, etc.
The director found a good mixture between a good story (unusual for a horror movie) and bloody scenes.
I liked the scene when the main character acts like a zombie (killing all the others, directly or indirectly) such that his girlfriend thought he was one of them, too. THat was a fresh idea.
But I think the best horror films have nothing to do with blood and gore and zombie limbs flying around.

One of the two most impressive scenes I know was in the bbc production "Warriors" (from 1999).

It was a two episodes tv production about british soldiers in Kosovo, being forced to do nothing but watch the atrocities around them.
In one scene , after a deal with one of the partisan leaders, the main character (a British soldier) is allowed to take one survivor of a massacre from the load floor of a truck. The bad thing is that the survivor is buried
below dozens of dead, mutilated blood soaking bodies. You can see the thickenig blood drip off the load floor. The following scene when one of the fellow soldiers provokes the leader to fight against men and not grandmas and children is one of the most tense moments I know being in a movie.

Another scene is a Film about the same topic (Savior , from 1998, with Dennis Quaid).

There a Serbian leader and his fellows stop a bus with refugees. He lets them stand in a row and takes his golf bag. In this bag are several very different hammers. I won't tell what's happening then, but that scene gave me the shivers.

I don't want to discuss the topic of the Yugoslavian war or the correctness of the situation decribed, but only these two impressing movie moments.

We have see mutilated bodies in horror movie but if the story that's told is in a real context, then horror is something completely different. Remember the things under your bed when it was dark, and everyone knows the strange feeling being alone in a dark street with someone walking 10 meters behind you.

That movie was shot with minidv video cameras, which I find interesting.
