Right now I have this pack with the following specs:
Download: 8192 Kbps
Upload: 1024 Kbps
Now we got this offer from another company saying : speed up to 20Mbit/s.
Now I don't understand it. They aren't saying their download speed is 20x1024kbps per second right? Cause I don't believe that. I pay 50 dollars for the pack I have right now and they offer a (shitty?) ADSL package for just 27 dollars a month.
So my question is, what does this 20 Mbit/s indicate?

Probably an ISP spamming their crazy offers and have oversaturated lines. If you think you're going to get a reliable ADSL package for $27 per month, then go take a long walk
Your connection seems pretty good ATM, no need to change.

We pay 20-25 a month for my dsl. It's pretty damn fast for 1/2 the price of cable

Yes, but you're in America where ISPs are in major competition. Kuffi resides in the Netherlands, his ISP probably gets their bandwidth from Belgacom in Belgium. We get ours in Spain from Amsterdam, hence more expensive than the dutchies.

Yeah, I guess it is very different over there.
A friend of mine is actually planning on making his own server run by everyone's wireless connections around him, because with his laptop alone, he's connected to 3 of his neighbor's internet connections. haha.

they will say speeds UP to a certain amount but with numbers that high on DSL you'll never see them, the shit you have now is very good, for dsl.

Well yeah you could do a test on their site and it said that where I live it will fluctuate between 10 and 15 mbit/s which is still 2 to 7 mbit more. Which imo must be bullshit since the package Im paying for now is simply one of the better packages around and I dont believe they can offer it for half the price including telephone shit so.. hmm.
