Skateboarding

Ive been skating lately at public schools, and Ive had teachers, security, school cops saying its illegal to skateboard on Public property besides my own private property and the skatepark. Ive also been informed if I am caught on property and the owner wants to press charges they can, My question is for what? If there is no damage *Handrails really cant be proof that I damaged them due to the history form other skaters*, If there are no signs, and if its really a public area like a park or something. Ive also been threaten by security that they can take my board and they can ticket me. All im just woundering is what should I tell them or do in the future?

In New Zealand security can't do shit, they have no right to touch you or take your personal property.... Where do you live?

ALB, New Mexico. I think some reason this is happening cause our mayor is sorta like the philly mayor and belives that skateboarding is a worthless activity.

It's illegal because it's either tresspassing or vandalism (yes, griding a rail is considered vandalism). Just keep skating when nobody's around man.

All citys in the USA have what are called Ordinences, and they are like laws that apply only for that one city, and many citys now have ordiences against skateboarding on public property and retail property because of mainly old people complaining. Usually if you get a ticket for breaking an ordienece its a very small fine. But since your school is government property they can enforce those ordiences there.

Because they can assume u responsible if they catch you doing it, utimatly we shouldn't do it and by trespassing and taking the risk to hit spots we gotta pay for the consequences. Normally here they get some shitty relliance people down, you abuse them for a bit then they call the police when they turn up you either leave or they take your name.

There's a mansion near us that's like owned by the government and we skated there all the time and got away with it, now they've introduced fines and shit so if we get caught then fine can go up to 100 quid I think it is.

Like someone said when you see a police car just leg it. If they see you later say it wasn't you... They won't pursue you though to be honest. If it's reliance just tell them to fuck off and keep skating, soon as they touch you it's fair game I think?

To be honest it's all part of the fun, it would be a lot more boring hitting new spots and stuffs and never getting any trouble for it, I mean it'd be fun but I dunno I enjoy friendly banter between our old friends the security guards.

Haha these pro's from round here got this old woman in an electric wheelchair going "put the seat back" cause they were skating a bench, they slowed it down and she sounded all daemonic was hellah funny. You know what I mean though without that you knoy. fact your doing something wrong or the fact the fact that it's frowned upon that was always a bit of the appeal for me, like when people looked at you like you were shit but then you do something down some stairs and they suddenly love you...

Unless the owner has some sort of video surveillance there is no way he can prove its you. And the police wont waste their time on weak shit like that.
