so today (saturday) I wake up at about 12 when my mum comes and opens the trap door. ''you have a package'' and throws me a DVD size package.
I look at the name & where its from and I know what it is and couldnt stop smiling,
it was LSD RIDERS:TAKE IT AND LOVE IT DVD.
iv been feening for this movie for hhmm about ayear maybe? more so these last 3-4 months...so I ripped it out and looked at the intresting artwork, looks like a 80s underground music tape cover. pretty neet drawing on the front, the back is packed with a collage of images ranging from shroomz to bmxing to stunts. so I call my bro's up to watch as they like bmxing & stunts. but one went out with his friend. so I start watching with my youngest bro 'joe'
without giving tomuch away like stunts or content I'll just talk about the production, the editing was fast and fresh along with a whole original soundtrack, which I love hearing stuff iv never heard before in videos and the acid punk songs are great for this trippy junkie bmxers with FUCKED UP stunt ideas. they have some of the best firework stunts iv seen..I say best because infact I would not touch them. they blow parts of there bodys up..the pain must be so high from what they do with them...well they are on some hard ass drugs so maybe it didnt hurt.
iv never laughted out loud when people get hurt but alot of the times I did...because it was funny...when Dave (the main stuntman) breaks his back & wrist moaaning on the floor trying to crawl towards his friends for help as they just stood there filming and watching asking the question 'dave you ok?' unable to speak or know that his broken 3 parts of his back I sat in a panic as I really did feel for him I felt like if I was there I couldnt of done anything to help him and from the look on his face I think he knew this......but my 11year old brother sat there laughting his ass off at the deep moans coming from his mouth and his wide open eyes which was not focused on anything the pain must of been so bad he went blind and he was half pasted out...it was hard to know what was going thru his head...I'll leave that for him to say but I feel iv desicribed it fairly well (tell me if im wrong dave)....so I told my brother to stop laughing. he didnt understand when people are that badly hurt you dont laugh at them.
anyways onto the riding. FINALLY a stunt group who have some class BMXing (or Bmx crew who do stunts, no matter they are good at both) being an ex rider myself, I loved the thrill of seeing these guys finding the best street spots and trying to pull off some crazy shit (some times no landing) but it was just the fact they was going hard and had little to no fear just like bmxers are ment too. landings was fucked up and looked painfull as shit.
it was filmed well and was shot on very good quality cameras so it was crisp (unsure the models for you camera junkies). dave added some trippy editing into some parts that made it more of a style that they are, no one else is like them. no one else has the balls to copy them. no one has the spots to ride like them.
im not sure how long the movie last for but it went very quickly maybe around 40-50mins? and I feel this dvd will be one to watch again and again, each time seeing things you missed the 1st time due to the shock of seeing the past scene or clips. its got a few bonus sections aswell 5-10mins? but dont have the bloody hand edit which is ashame as that stunt was fucking stupid and fucked up (as you all might of seen online) so hopfully it will be edited into the 2ND MOVIE that they are already making.
all in all I give this DVD 8/10 everyone around here knows im hard to please. its even harder for myself to be please with our shit so thats why we've always pushed it to the limit...and I can say these guys are pushing it but I feel there is always room for improvment.
so basicly the DVD features Drug taking,Stunts,Bmxing & hardcoreness all round in its own LSD drug trip
the DVD will be out to buy very soon for $20 for US orders and $24 (£13) for over seas including shipping which takes 4 days. you will be able to buy on paypal.
