possbile contest

I was thinking about doing a simple contest with a prize of 10 brand new DVD's. The contest would be something along the lines of "best thread" or "most popular thread". I need to know if you guys would be interested.

Some of the titles from the 10 DVD's are CAST AWAY, WHITE SQUAL, BATTLEFIELD EARTH, and YOUNG GUNS. They're all brand new and unopened. I pay shipping.

So I need to know if anyone would actually partcipate in this contest...like actually try to win...or are the prizes no motivating enough. Let me know..

Sounds good, but I think the best thread idea is better as the most popular threads turn out to be 'Post something about the last poster' kind of stuff.

I think a contest is great. but best tread is bad cos it will make alot of spam.

Maybe best Clips or best editing f the month. This way groups make more clips and work more and it might keep groups alive more.

Weak, you should remind everyone of the HGF promo that hasn't been finished yet.

It's a good idea, but everyone will stop posting in other people's threads so that theirs will get better, I rekon it would decrease activity

As for the contest....MADE had a great idea about a referral contest...meaning whoever gets the most people to sign up on HGF would win. We would have a referral thread where those who were referred tell us who referred them. We'd check IP's to make sure its all legit.

The purpose of this would to bring in more of an audience into HGF. More members, more posters, more viewers....it makes this place more active. Naturally we would get some unwanted people signing up, but overall I think this place would benefit from a referral contest. We were mainly aiming for people to have their "real life" friends and group members sign up. That should keep the inflow of douche bags to a minimum.

there is a MOD for that. when you signup it gives you a BOX to enter the users name.

Some kind of contest would be cool. If you have the referral contest, it could be like, you get 2 point for every sign up and 1 point for every 10 posts the member you got to join makes. Im not good at explaining
