I know GMan will disagree with me... But id say IE is just as good if not betetr now.
When FF first came out it was much better... But nowiwth all the things you can egt with IE id say its better. if you get google toolbar, a goof firewall... and dont fuck about on some sites... its better and id say safer then IE now.
But I have not used 1.5 yet so maybe the holes are patched now.

Well, I do develop sites for a living now. All the bugfixes we have to add purely for IE constitute 10 hours work for each large project. IE really is a pain in the ass, and isn't compliant. It's not about security, which may I add the stable releases of firefox are a whole load more secure. It's about what a pain IE is when developing.
But use whatever floats your boat, personally I cannot use IE and have to get FF before I browse the web on a new computer. IE is pretty shit from my point of view, but for casual browsing and downloading I guess it does the job.

yeah... But the thing is.... IE is used mostly now... And yeah FF has took a big part of the market but IE is the main client. So you saying "I have to code more for IE" is not really a reason as IE was there before.... And FF is not 100% complient. Alot of shit I code does not work in FF 100%. And there interpretation of CSS sucs. And CSS is used alot...
FF has alot of things going for it... and it does not bother me much people using it... But saying you need to code more for IE is kinda wrong as if you just coded for IE then FF "should" work fine. but you will be working for 100% of the market.
But the nagain... Opera is FREE now! And that rocks and is more secure then IE and FF
