Well our plans for a UK roadtrip kinda fell through but we're still coming to London to see Rise Against in November..
is vode coming? wanna meet up after and hang out?
sure. Ben when are we going?

Well they're playing the Brixton Academy at the end of November. We already planned with vode that we'd go to Amsterdam to see them there but it looks like they're not gonna play there after all, but I'm sure he doesn't mind a trip to the UK. The plane tickets would only be like 100€ altogether which I make in less than two days even with my shitty salary.
And Webby sure man it'd be awesome to hang out with you now that we'd have more time in London than last time.
Haha and Jones, is that a reference to my reply last year when I found about Newquay?

28 August 2007, 20:27 UTC#19,742
I ate batteries
28 August 2007, 20:35 UTC#19,743
Ohh you guys wanna hang out as well? Pweeze?
28 August 2007, 20:41 UTC#19,744
Matt, it's either London or Leeds. We're gonna fly over to London anyways but if we don't get any tickets to the Brixton Academy gig, the university of Leeds is our second choice without a doubt. But trust me I'd love to hang out with you and Marc again, and come out and chill out at your club

London is our first choice only because it would be a lot cheaper for us. Besides it's not only us HG people coming over (there are 2-3 others) so we gotta respect their wishes too

28 August 2007, 20:42 UTC#19,745
Dude I aint fussed, your travelling from Finland, I can come from Leeds to London.

28 August 2007, 20:44 UTC#19,746
Haha yeah but either way we have to arrange a meet-up some way

28 August 2007, 20:51 UTC#19,747

The Raynox came in and it's pretty nice. With a UV and polarizer filter on the VX and the MX-3000 lens I get vig in all four corners.
Should be nice for skate videos.

Brixton is the most northerly stop on the northern line, it has a population of around 90% blacks and is a general shitehole.
28 August 2007, 21:52 UTC#19,754
Haha well I guess I'll be seeing you there then

28 August 2007, 21:55 UTC#19,755
The area around Brixton Academy isn't bad though. It's a 5 minute walk from the station.
28 August 2007, 22:07 UTC#19,756
HEY MIKE!
28 August 2007, 22:12 UTC#19,757
Haha, dear god. I just got a speech from my dad. He asked me if there were some videos he should know about. I just asked him what he wanted to know and basically told him every stunt that I've did, minus some that would make him disown me. I guess the guys that actually watch Fox News and ABC he works with told him about it all.
It was funny as hell but also irritating. He just had the stereotypical adult reaction, talking about how light tubes have mercury in them and how dangerous it all was. I've been skateboarding for years, which is extremely dangerous, but he has never griped me out about it.
I hope I'm not such a douche when I'm 40. Image file not present in the recovered backup

He's probably not trying to be a dick and rain on your parade, more worried about your safety as a good parent would be. Try and explain the fact that you take precautions before doing stunts and don't run into them headfirst before checking stuff out like the idiots that get shown on tv etc.
If you take a mature attitude and talk it out with him he may be less likely to be pissed off at you as it shows you're at least being serious and mature about what you're doing.
28 August 2007, 22:20 UTC#19,759
I understand, but he just came across as a total ass. That's just his personality. I can easily hide future stunt filming from him. I've been doing this for over a year now and he just now caught on.
Forget talking to him about how we go about it "safely", he's far too stubborn.
28 August 2007, 22:21 UTC#19,760
So he didnt know you were on the ABC thing?
28 August 2007, 22:23 UTC#19,761
Tell him you're homosexual. That'll take his mind off you doing dangerous stunts

28 August 2007, 22:23 UTC#19,762
My parents have known about the stunt videos for a little while now...
And now, every time I get hurt or have an ache or a pain in my body and tell my parents about it, they usually say..."You shouldn't have jumped out of cars" Even if I got hurt in a non-stunt related activity
28 August 2007, 22:24 UTC#19,763
My mum never minded, she just use to call me stupid. She always said it was my choice and if I wanna fuck myself up I gotta live with it.
28 August 2007, 22:25 UTC#19,764
My parents really don't care...
Unless I do something that's completely dangerous
I still haven't told them the real story about the reason I have a scar on my neck
28 August 2007, 22:26 UTC#19,765
my mom has known since I started. after I showed her the first couple, she wont watch the videos, but she knows. the only thing she really got upset about was the jesus vs. satan boxing match.
28 August 2007, 22:27 UTC#19,766
I just never do stunts or anything like that. Haha it doesn't appeal to me, it's not clever or talented hurting yourself in my opinion. I think it's more a case of stupidity rather than bravery or ballsyness really like say people who do jumps, there's nothing to stop me going out and jumping off really high things other than the fact I think it's a bit dumb and would personally rather stay fit and healthy.
Public shite and skits is where it's at.

Haha, not at the time. He's aware now though....
I admit doing stunts is a bit dumb, but it gives me a huge rush incomparable to anything else. That and I love the shock people have when they see them.
And Ben, if I told him I was gay he'd probably shoot me in the face.

Yeah fair shout, I get a rush absolutely hammering someone in rugby and I get my deal of shocks when I tell people I don't know I have maddy. Or when that fucking Mika song comes on that goes big girls you're beautiful, telling a big girl nearby that they aren't beautiful and will die of cardiovascular disorders haha.
