Im gonna get dcr-hc22. I dont have my own dv cam so I want one, but cant spend lots. HC22 is pretty cheap, 440e in Finland. Its also small so I can carry it easily around. It also has dv in which is very handy. The expression I have about HC series is that Pic quality is pretty good (cant compare to three chip cams, but meh).

I cant really find any cons about dcr-hc22, yeah 3ccd would be cool and I would like to have analog in, but those cost sooo much more. analog in would be another 100e and 3ccd would be few hundred, so I go with hc22.

Yep. I know a fair amount as this is the camera Ive been planning on getting.

Basically, it's sony's cheapest 3 chip camera, and instead of using CCD's, this camera uses CMOS chips. Im not sure what the difference is, but in the review I read it performed very well. I believe this is the first camera to use CMOS technology. They currently are using CMOS chips in only 1 other camera, the HC1 which is the cheapest HD cam out there.

The CMOS chips are very small, only 1/6th of inch....the chips in the vx2100 are honestly twice as big as the ones in the PC1000, which makes me weary on how good the PC1000 picture quality is.

The upside of the pc1000 is that it is extremely small, one of the smallest 3ccd cams out there....which is why its chip are so small.

I like the fact thats its very small and extremely well priced. Its less than half the costs of a vx2100, only $930. So all that I really care about is whether the picture quality is any good. Sometimes these small 3 chips cams end up performing worse than a normal sized 1 chip cam. So I bit skeptical.

Man id really like to know what the pic quality is like, cos like you I think the size is good.

Its all de-interlaced on the timeline.... which dint happen on my other cam, how do I fix this?

There's a filter in Premiere to de-interlace, but I'm not sure how to do it in Vegas.

kinda off subject...But hows the Panasonic NV-GS75 For quility..Its pretty cheap...So there must be a reason..anyone know?

It has bad low light capabilities I hear, but other than that it seems pretty good.

I like my HC-21, it gets the job done, and I'm trying to save up for a TRV900 eventually, so when I get that it'd be a nice backup cam.

You wont be able to find a good 3CCD cam that's good in all aspects unless you're willing to spend at least $800 (no clue what that is in pounds).

Just as a video quality test, it doesn't really matter what the footage is of.

Hmm I only saved it as 512Kbps, ill have to talk to weak so I can figure out what settings to use.
