Well is just seems to me that most americans know their own history and geography very well compared to their knowledge of history that doesnt include USA and geography outside of the us.

It's fascinating that you really dont need to know if France is a province of Spain or that you dont have to know(in school) if the first settlers ever, built their settelments at the banks of Tigris or the Mississipi... You are yanks you got all you need in you own country! You dont have to by things that are not manufactured in the US. You seem to think its notnecsessary to ever travell abroad for a nice vacation.
