21 November 2005, 20:34 UTC#4

Buy a new comp? thats a bit extreme aint it? the worst measure you should have to take is to reformat the comp!
anyway try using microsoft antispyware, or perhaps trying to manually find the programmes on the hard drive.....
this is what you get for trusting Frito
Image file not present in the recovered backup21 November 2005, 20:44 UTC#10
yeah no reason to buy a new comp. I find spyware easy to remove. Only thing you gota watch for is spyware that adds extentions to your reg... This way they can uplaod spyware without you even knowing... and btw for anyone who uses it: Daemon Tools 4 is out but iyt has spyware in.... and this spyware does this. If you need one without it (Customer copy) I have it.
21 November 2005, 20:58 UTC#11
Somebody find me that nugetos tutorial to remove spyware!
And doyle, I tried to do that MSOCNFIG but it said it dont find it Image file not present in the recovered backup
And spybot, adaware and f-secure have now bee run, everything is removed, but its still going on Image file not present in the recovered backup
so hobout that registyr key ghey thingy?
21 November 2005, 21:02 UTC#12
You should have it, type "msconfig" (without the quotes) in run!
21 November 2005, 21:10 UTC#13
Hahaha, fuck. It says its not finding it Image file not present in the recovered backup
I got my desktop working, apparently there was too active desktop items there, I deleted them and my desktop works normally.
But IE still opens dodgy porn whenever I start it Image file not present in the recovered backup

eh...yeah mate why waste a stash of money on a new pc when you could just do a full scale format of your hdd or just buy a new hdd?
If you want rid of spyware use spyware sweeper, download a torrent of it. will remove all your shit and doesn't fuck up your registry.
21 November 2005, 21:25 UTC#15
you got a virus vode. run a scan. if you don't have software, download AVG.
21 November 2005, 22:34 UTC#16
Nah, didnt got a virus. Some reg thing about my start page or sumshit, that was found with spybot in safemode, removed it and IE started working normally. Also deleting those two active desktop items I had there go tmy desk workin gproperly, si I think I dont ahve any problems anymore, runned f-secure, adaware and spybot, nothing left.
MAybe I shall do that f-sec virus scan too, just to be sure.
Thanks everybody.
Now go watch some porn from dodgy sites

why hasn't this been pinned yet gaz.?
http://homegrownforums.com/index.php?showt...7614&hl=spyware
yeah, I would ahve needed that..... but then I just randomöy experimented and whopaduuduu, got everything working.....
Exepct, I dotn seriously have that msconfig

Seriously, it doesnt find it, whats is it supposed to do?
21 November 2005, 23:19 UTC#20
Ok. if msconfig is not working and you have XP then its a virus... or you have a virus and some new spyware. MSCONFIG can be stopped from working same as CTRL+ALT+DEL can.
Best bet is to restart and go into Safemode (I believe pressing F8 or esc when booting will give you a option) and then run a spyware scanner and a FULL anti-virus scanner.
I know many people say Norton and things are good but trust me... Download the trial version of NOD32 www.nod32.com and scan using it.
if this still does not fix it see if you can do a system restore and find the closest date to when you got this spyware from this "Bad" site.
21 November 2005, 23:28 UTC#21
As I said, I run F-Secure antispyware and virus scan, adaware and spybot in windows safe mode, it found some bullshit, one them was soemthing about start page of IE, deleted all of them and nO id otn ahve any problems.
And that desktop rpobel I got the same time as others was fixed by deleting active desktop items that had appeared.
So I dont seem to ahve any spyware or viruses anymore. Or problems for that matter.
But when I type msconfig on run, it says it wont find it, so I searched it in normal search thingy, it found two applications in some WINDOWS folders and one html help file. So I seem to have it.... but I dont even know what it is? What is it suppsoed to do?
21 November 2005, 23:31 UTC#22
Ah ok. Sorry never read that post then man
Errm. Well not sure man... Do some search on google. And if you can get hold of a stand alone popup/active-x/install stopper program. I did have one so if you need one I can find a good one for ya.
EDIT: Found this for you
