Sony Handycam uploading problems

I got a Sony Handycam DVD 101
and I dont know how to get the stuff I shot uploaded onto my computer..
the guy said no cord and I edit with WMM if that helps..could someone tell me how the hell I get my stuff on my computer?

Yeah, there has to be some kind of wire involved, or some connection, you unfortunately can't think the footage into the computer.

I checked the online manuel and it says that there is no firewire port
and that I must finalize my video before anything else but the camera can read it
problem is I only have one DVD and it says that you can only finalize a dvd once..
it has a USB but, I dont have a USB cable that fits the outlet.

well if its a DVD cam, then dont you just take the DVD out and jam it in the DVD re-writer? Image file not present in the recovered backup

I see not even one good thing about the DVD cams. Everyone said to me when I got my miniDV "WHY DIDNT YOU GET THOSE KOOL NEW DVD ONES LIKE ON TV???1"

It’s obvious that there is no firewire port, if there was some how the software would have to rip it from the CD and then convert it from .vob to .avi and would take extreme lengths of time - I mean hours on end.

I just hate the way Sony advertised them, they are only good for people on holiday or something but no way for us.

ok dude we use one of the DVD handcams, you have to instal the software that comes with it called picture pakage. and you use USB, it should come with the camera.

Then you go into the pictuer package menu and click viewing and halding pictures. there will be 2 tabs one says harddirve and the otherDVD click dvd and go to video or pictures and then you can upload them to your computer.

and buy re useabel dvds it a lot better unless tou have a small hardrive or want to keep backups on discs.

it came with everything except manual
but, then when I went to best buy to trade it in they were wondering we I dint get the program with it..
I like my new one more anyway it's badass

if you got the software with the DVD cmaeras its so easy to take the clips off rather than actually capturing becxue you just kindal ike click and drag, but if you use premiere its better with avi than mpg, well for me atleasyt it frezes a lot when io use mpg and with avi it is great.

when I talked to the guy at best buy (geek squad!) he said that if I want to film like Jackass type stunts that the want the camera for me because, of editing and that if something inside the camera came off balance that the camera would be totally worthless
