Premiere

Im starting to use Premiere and I just want to creat a few gifs with it.

So anyway, I imported the videoI wanted as the gif, shortened it down with the razor tool, then exported as a animated GIF, that should work right?

But what happens is there is a black screen around the outside of thr animated GIF, so a video of the GIF in center of the black screen. The GIF works but the black screen is around it, I've tryed making it smaller but it just makes the whole thing smaller.

Also its file size is around 1mb at least, is it trying to export as a WMV file aswell? Although I slected the GIF option and it works, apart from the problems listed above, hopefully someone can solve this qucikly and easily. Thanks.

when you go to render, click on the video options and play around with the size, and the frames per second.

If it's something small you wanna use in a sig or something, try like 150x150 at 6 frames a second. Anything above 6 frames a second will make the file too big to be decent to use.

Yeah I think that works, but I still have this black screen around it. The black screen is around the size of the actual WMV videos resolution, I think, the GIF is in the middle, as I adjust the size the black screen around it goes smaller, along with the gif.

I need it 60x60, as I'll prolly use it as my avater.

Nope, theres a black frame around it, well bigger than a frame, I just need to get rid of it.
Here's what I do:

File>Export>Movie>Settings>General>File Type>Animated GIF>Range(tried both options, same result)>Video>Frame Size>Frame Rate>

and then everything else is ok, right?

hrm, I think my version of adobe says video size. I've encountered the border before, but I was able to adjust thevideo size and get rid of it.

well shit. I dunno what to tell you man. I don't have adobe here at work to look at!

I use V7 of Premiere, Im pretty sure.

ive diddled with gifs in pre pro, I said fuck it, its not worth the hassle.

I make em in premeire 6.0 and its mad easy!

Anyone know any other programmes which can creat GIFS?
I remember this one called "AVI to GIF" but it was crap, was a trial and the gif was animated in like frames, each one lasting like 2seconds, so just looked stupid.

Go to project > project settings > general then tick the box that says "scale clips to project dimentions when adding to sequence"

I think that should get rid of it for you.

I think that would of worked, but Im not sure if it did, here's some pics, anything Im doing wrong?

Also the quality of the actual gif isnt really smooth, I mean I'll just change the FPS but the actual quality has lines on and like spots you know.

I've actually tried a better quality video, and it had the same outcome, the quality is also a bit spotty, if you know what I mean.

Yeah its de-interlaced. No idea how to fix it though.
