Problem With my Clock

ok I have windows xp, and the time in the bottom right hand corner changes randomly every once in a while. I ran my anti-virus and sypware programs and they found nothing. What should I do?

Daylight saving? Otherwise try sycronise your clock with the MS server.

lol no its not daylight savings..which is today actually...its been happening for about 3 weeks now. And the time usually goes back 4-5 hours.

ya and its syncornized with the ms server and set to the right time zone

Make sure your in the right time zone, right click on the click and click adjust time and date the click the time zone tab.

That solved my problem. I moved a few months back from Michigan to Chicago and forgot to change the time zone. Once I did I've not had the problem anymore.

I had that, it goes back every 6 hours. My problem was spyware..

If it aint regional problems or daylight savings, then it must be spyware or a trojan. Try AVG antivirus and spybot - search and detroy.

could be your cmos battery?? check that when you rule everything else out

It's more than likely to be this. Especially if you have an old computer. Get it replaced for like 10p.

Yeah, the first thing I'd do is pop the battery and put it back in a few seconds later; sometimes that'll fix small problems that just have to do with what's stored on the batter (such as keeping the clock up to date). Otherwise, if you're just resetting the clock to the right time through the operating system, that doesn't always work. Go into bios/cmos settings and make sure that the clock is correct there, because that's where windows get's the time from each time it boots, so if it's wrong there, it's always going to display wrong on operating system.
