I read this article how hollywood film makers are getting jealous of amateur film makers and trying to shut them down.

If amatuer shit catches on, they'll just find a way to commercialize it until its not amatuer anymore, but they'll still call it "amatuer".
Same thing happened with "reality" TV.

That time is already here sort of. If you notice all major production companies always have a side film company for the indie films, IE Fox Searchlight of Fox and Focus Features of Universal Pictures. They go to film festivals and have bidding wars over what they feel would be a commercial success.
Tarnation was a backyard film, made on a budget of $200 that managed to get a theatrical release.

Film makers should be afriad.. backyard filmakers are the film makers of tomorrow.. and thats not good job security...

It's true, if you think about it...most of the people here probably would have an idealised job in the entertainment industry.
