I just got this computer like 3 weeks ago, I burned one CD using Windows Media and it worked. A couple of days later it said "inspecting" on the song for like 2 seconds then didnt do anything. So I tried Record Now, it said it was burning but when the CD was done it didnt have any songs burned on it. WTF is going on? Now it says no CD or DVD burner detected.

Try using AHEAD NERO. Windows media sucks ass for burning cd's. If you have XP on the computer ya can just drag the songs into the black cd (like in my computer) and click BURN FILES and choose music cd.

Hope I have helped

yeah try using a different programme, I remember when I used to burn CD's with WMP many years ago Image file not present in the recovered backup

Anyway, I use Pinnacle Instant CD+DVD, I dont no if you'll be able to get hold of this but it came with my computer, if it's a working version it will work, I've never had troubles.
I guess the only thing you can do to help WMP is check that the destination drive is correct, make sure all the songs are playable and not corrupt, I guess that's all I can think of.
