Seems the initially widely criticised developmental OS Windows Vista is starting to improve.

it looks really nice... The sidebar will be very convienent for users that have wide monitors... and the 3D look was awesome...

Yeah, I love the 3D look, and the meter that tells you hw much drive space is left without having to click it. Being able to stick in a USB card and use it as system memory is an awesome idea also.

edit: okay, there is one feature on there I like, and thats shadow copies. that sounds effing badass.

Haha, it does look like the GUI has been borrowed from MAC.

This is shaping up to be a great platform. I HATE xp so anything should be better then xp. Loving the 3D look.

I like XP, because it's easy to administer, causes no networking problems, has no driver compatibility problems, etc.
But I'm definately going to be purchasing a copy of Vista the way things are looking, very promising indeed.

They refer to Vista increasingly as a "client"
Makes me think that Vista Client will be very tightly integrated with the Vista Server
That could give it a serious leg-up as far as networking/administration goes
Can't wait for some more complete betas to come out so I can pop 'em on my laptop and try it out
