So there have been plenty of groups here who made a DVD.

I know you can music for your DVD legally by contacting amatures and stuff but do you guys just use music from the bands you like? And did any of you sell your DVD's in shop even though you used music from bands you didnt have a deal with?

You can pay to use signed bands its not TOO expsensive, a local skate video was made and they used proper big bands. You can pay for the whole song or for the amount u use...so you can pay for the rights to use the whole thing or say 1 minute, and that would obviously cost less. I dont know exact prices or how u go about it. I could try and find out if u wanted.

you need permission from the artist... we feature all local or canadian bands and give them props in the credits

often then they'll promote you on their site for having their work on the DVD.

Music is a bitch. It cost more than anything else in our DVD and it wasnt even big artists.

I wouldnt make a DVD if I knew it was going to make retail with unlicensed music, you're waiting for a world of trouble.
